Topic: “Master Lash Artist”

✨The definition of being a master is to have practiced a skill over 10,000 hours. The problem with this is that you can be practicing 10,000 hours with the wrong technique. Especially when it comes to the skill of lashing, there is a lot to learn, lots of new things always emerging, and to be quite honest we want you to always be the person who knows least in the room. Because this means that you have a lot more room for growth and a lot more room to learn! 🫶🏻

Last year, we surprised Tussanee with an award created in her honor 🥹

The Spirit of Tussanee Award celebrates the heart and soul she brings to this industry. Her resilience. The way she keeps showing up, even through the hardest seasons. The way she loves people, lifts others up and somehow keeps finding a way forward no matter what life throws at her.

One year later, it was time to honor someone who carries that same spirit.

And this year, that person was @lashed.by.dani 🩵

This year tested Dani in ways no one should have to be tested. She fought cancer and WON. And somehow, in the middle of it all, she kept going. She opened her dream salon. Taught around the world. Got back on stage. Kept pouring into her students and into this industry.

She showed us what resilience looks like when it’s lived out in real time.

Because the Spirit of Tussanee isn’t about having an easy season. It’s about who you choose to be in the hard ones.

Dani, we love you so much. You are an absolute light in this world and we are so freaking proud of you. And we couldn’t think of a more deserving person to carry this legacy forward 🏆✨

I’m doing things differently. I’m only saying yes to things that bring me joy.

LashCon happens to be one of those things. I’ve been to every LashCon (even the virtual one ) and it’s become one of those things I just can’t imagine missing.

Maybe it’s the energy, maybe it’s the inspiration, but mostly I think it’s the people.

And maybe that’s the biggest lesson of all. The lashes may have gotten me here, but the people are what keep bringing me back.

If your audience isn’t buying, ask yourself what you gave them before you asked for the sale.

Paul + Tussanee didn’t start by asking the lash industry to buy from them. They started by sharing, educating, and creating connection in an industry where people were used to gatekeeping what they knew.

They built the community first.

And that’s the part a lot of businesses skip.

If every post leads to an offer, every email leads to a checkout page, and every interaction feels like a pitch… people can feel it.

Pour into people before you ask something from them.

Give them a reason to trust you, learn from you, and want to stay in your world.

I walked into @thelashconference 2022 not knowing a single person.

Tiffany @lavenderjadelash Cynthia @embellished.bycyn Ari @burtelash

Half the people I text weekly now.

None of them knew anyone either.

The room isn't full of people who all came together. It's full of people hoping someone talks to them first. 😅

And here's the thing: you already have something in common with every single person in that room.

We all do lashes.
