Making it easier for you guys so that creating content can be more fun! Here’s simple and easy angles that I use that can help you when taking taking photos/videos of your clients.

Side View Angle:
I prefer to do this while my client is laying down.
This is a pretty shot to get a good angle of how the lashes look from the side.

Front View Angle:
This is a great angle to showcase your full set.
To do this, simply stand next to them from the side, angle your phone above them and pan from corner to corner slowly to get a good shot.

Half Face Angle:
Focusing on one eye only
In order to do this I prefer to keep my client laying down. Bring your phone close up to their face (zoom if you have too) and snap 📸

Close Up Model Shot:
I love doing this close-up because it captures the entire set beautifully. To do this get in front of your client (do this behind a solid background or use a backdrop) tilt their head just a bit and take your shot.

The Look Away Then Back:
This is such a great pose when you’re having fun with your clients and want something more sultry and sexy. To do this, simply stand behind a solid wall or backdrop, have them look away from the camera (when there’s head movement it looks better) then let them know when to look back. BOOM! beautiful shot 😍

Off Guard Pose:
This pose is similar to the side view angle, but instead the client is standing up. To do this, have your client stand behind a solid wall or backdrop, keep your phone straight, then prompt your client to look straight forward not at the camera. 🤗

We all make the excuses that we can’t create content because you think you need an expensive camera. Well, I’m here to tell you, your iPhone is just fine.

Here’s a few more tips that can help you.

1. First & foremost, let’s start off by making sure we clean our camera lens. I can’t explain how important it is that you take that first step to make sure your lens is clean. If you record on a dirty screen, there no coming back from that.

2. Turn your HDR video off. Go to settings > search “HDR” > turn off. This gives a weird dark color to the videos and photos.

3. When recording your client, make sure to avoid background distractions. The focus should be on the clients face and not your lash cart in the back lol. To get a smooth video effect, make sure you pan out slowly when recording (stop moving your phone so fast!) this will have your video looking all over the place if you don’t move smooth.

4. LIGHTING! This is so important!! Make sure you are not recording against it. Whatever you are recording should be facing the light so you can get a crispy clear shot.

You guys asked, so I’m finally sharing my personal recommendation for the iPhone 16-17 because I’m not gonna lie, I feel like this has been a game changer for my content.

First things first, before you even start recording anything, always make sure your lens is wiped. Even if you think it’s clean, wipe it anyway because one little fingerprint will have your whole video looking blurry and you’re gonna be confused why your quality looks off.

Next, lighting has to be on point. You can have the perfect settings, everything can be set up correctly, but if your lighting isn’t good your content is still not going to come out the way you want. So lighting is NON negotiable.

Another important tip, make sure HDR is turned OFF. I know a lot of people leave it on, but sometimes it can make your clips look over-processed, and especially with lash content and product videos, it can mess with the quality.

Now in the last slide, I’m recommending my favorite cinematic mode settings.

The only way this is going to work is if you’re recording slow clips, meaning you’re moving at a slower pace on purpose. Because once you switch to this specific format, if you start recording anything fast paced, it’s not going to look good.

So anytime you want to record something like a day in the life, walking into your studio, setting up your cart, packing orders, anything that’s more calm and at a normal pace, switching your camera to 4K at 24 FPS is going to give you that cinematic, movie feel vibe. And honestly, this is one of those little tricks that people don’t realize makes a huge difference. It’s part of the reason people always ask why my content looks so good.

Different formats give you different results, so once you learn when to use each one, your content quality is going to level up automatically.
