I love what plants can teach kids, and adults… about slowing down, delayed gratification and nurturing our surroundings.
Today @pantheraclawed and @lashlabpdx salon babes started their own plant salon babies from our summer pothos propagations.

I’ll be teaching them how to check the soil, understand the plant conditions, label their last date of watering & eventually repot!

The three salon girlies potted pothos, and even though the boys weren’t free today, we potted them each one so they can water their plant babies and be apart of the growing 🍃🌱experience. We don’t forget about you lil Mario! @herlashmuse

Having a salon that is kid friendly, can be both magical and over stimulating, but that’s motherhood… and that’s what creating spaces where moms are truly welcomed looks like. I wouldn’t have this salon any other way. Because some of us can’t always find daycare and support. So just know… this is what it really means to support moms… create safe and loving environments where our kids are welcome too… where we lean on community parenting AND friendship that uplifts us. Society doesn’t really offer that for us… create more spaces where we don’t have to quit our businesses, dreams and ambitions, in midst of motherhood. by @lashlabpdx

When it comes to client retention (and I’m not even talking lashes staying on)…. It comes down to the little things!

Struggling with returning clientele? Consider this:
🎙️Give them the mic: Consult thoroughly, to understand your clients expectations, with a thorough assessment that professionally communicates what you’re observing.
🚪Meet your clients needs: Notate it and come prepared for every appointment before they walk through the door.
💆🏽‍♀️Growth Mindset: After every appointment, ask them about their experience, what could’ve been better, did anything prevent them from having a relaxing experience, is there a thing they’d change?? Notate it and FIX it for the next time they come back. If they enjoyed something, notate it and REPEAT!
🧴They Dunno: Provide aftercare instructions and access to what you recommend! Never assume they know what they’re doing, or what to use!
📅 Repeat Customers: During the checkout process book their next appointment. Say “my next appointment available 2 weeks from now is…” taken in GLAM LAB PDX by @lashlabpdx
