Do lash artists still post full face still photos? šŸ™ˆ I might be aging myself when I say that I 100% absolutely adore a full facer amongst the sea of up close eyeballs flooding my timeline šŸ˜…

Whether these are still cool or not; your girl is doing for it 🤪 After over a year of not posting my lash content on this page… I may need some time to adjust to the cool new trends hahaha so thank you for bearing with me šŸ¤ž

I have been sharing my BTS content since I started taking lash clients mostly in my stories and lots of ppl asked for the mapping on this wet-ish set, idk what to call it since it’s a mixture of closed spikes with narrow fans… since it’s not ALL spikes…. what about a DAMP Lash set? No …. That sounds gross šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Any suggestions what to call this? Help an old lash lady out! Hahaha

I love a challenge & this beautiful girl came to me with some pretty damaged and sparse natural lashes but wanted a fuller, wispy brown look. šŸ«

To give her the fluff and dimension she wanted, I opted for short lengths for the bulk of the eye and a softer curl & narrow fans for most of the base to keep the lash line looking as dark as possible! šŸ‘ļø

Even without a super full or healthy natural lash line, I was really happy with the results! Our goal is to get her naturals to a healthier place so we can increase fullness and length.

If there’s anything I want to be known for is customizing lash looks to give my clients what they want AND what they need by keeping safety in mind šŸ¤ŽšŸ«¶šŸ½ taken in South Reno, Nv by @lashleygee

Same shield. 4 completely customized lifts. šŸ‘€

Every single result in this reel came from ONE shield… in fact every single KLL I post ever on my page is from the same shield. Idk bout yall but as someone who used to do 6+ lifts a day, I could never be bothered with digging through a cart of 20 different options trying to find ā€œthe right one.ā€

I focused on intentional technique and applied differently based on the client sitting in front of me.

I’m genuinely so excited to be teaching this at the second @mish.esthetics KLL Seminar this October, because this is the exact thing I wish someone had broken down for me earlier in my career. So many lash artists are taught to chase the ā€œperfect shieldā€ instead of learning how to actually work the one they already have and that gap in education is exactly what this class is built to close.

If you’ve ever felt limited by what’s in your kit, or found yourself second-guessing which shield to grab, this class is going to change the way you look at every single one you own.

How did I get four this different from one shield? That’s exactly what you’ll learn in the room. šŸ‘€

Tickets are live now @mish.esthetics @mishesthetics.store

See you there ✨

I turn 35 on Friday, and it’s been over 3 years since I picked up my family and moved somewhere I knew no one and nothing about.

My one promise to myself was to get uncomfortable. To give the new job a shot, but also to give myself and my family a chance at a life I only ever saw in movies.

We’re not rich by any financial means. But we’ve grown so much by enriching our lives outside of work and school. Learning to clock out and lock in on happiness and family time is something I honestly didn’t think I’d ever make the time for before.

Cooking meals from scratch, waking up at 5am to workout, gardening from seed in my backyard, soooo much quality time with my girls, frequent date nights and mini-getaways with my husband and all the reading and candy crush time I could ever ask for! Like what?! All while my bills are paid and my credit score is improving hello?! Haha what is life

A lot of ppl thought I’d miss entrepreneurship and ā€œbeing my own bossā€ too much and go back to my business but honestly, the more I’m outside looking in… I know more than ever that’s NOT what I want right now.

Here’s to the next chapter šŸ¤
Because one thing I’ve learned in being 600 miles away from the place that raised me, is that you might not be able to have it all. But you do get to choose what you have, and it all comes down to what’s most important. What you’re not changing, you’re choosing. I’m choosing happy healthy and balanced.

POV: you thought ā€œeducation managerā€ meant PowerPoints and notebooks… I mean it’s a LOT of that šŸ˜… but the truth is, no two days look the same.

And honestly, that’s just the way it is. High pace, high payoff and lots of LISTS 🤣

One minute I’m writing curriculum, next im filling in a spreadsheet. Then I’m setting up for an event or hosting a webinar.

ā€œSo what do you do all day?ā€ Have fun with this 3 minute sped up video of a typical day at work for me running the education department for a growing beauty brand.

Often crazy, never boring haha

Is it what you thought it was? I’d love to know haha by @lashleygee

… and honestly, that got me strolling down memory lane.
Today is officially THREEEEE years since I came to bless the PLA team with my skillz 🤪🤪🤪

No but seriously tho,
I’m so insanely proud of how far I’ve come as a lash artist, educator and even just a person.

Join me as we take a look at some of my fave moments on this crazy journey from meeting @michellenguyenpla to where the PLA education department is today.

Maybe you can tell me what you think I should be most proud of at the end?

When I met Michelle in Las Vegas Nevada over 5 years ago I had no idea I’d end up moving to the same state we met in to be her right hand in education 🤣

I just remember thinking, omg what a tiny human with such a mighty heart for making the beauty industry a better place through free and accessible education šŸ„¹šŸ™šŸ½

Always been so inspired by her passion for this world and helping people make more money and live a better life, so aligned with my company I started ā€œBeautylisciousā€ if you know, you know!

Plus a WOC and immigrant to boot. My idol

Never had I ever gone out of the country before and thanks to @lashbossretreats and PLA, I got to experience Italy in full color and all its glory!

Met some of my fave people there and it truly transformed me into someone who looks forward to traveling and booking vacations (something I never allowed myself to do before working for this company that truly encourages travel and time off)

I get to work with some of my bestie best bests from behind the scenes as well as sharing speaking and teaching opportunities with them since PLA is not just about lashes but nails and wax too!

In my years here I’ve gained so much confidence and trust both internally as well as from the leadership team that allows me to own BIG projects now like major events, tradeshows and conferences including everything from decor, to campaign plans and even schedules and travel itineraries! (Dream job btw)

Another thing that I didn’t realize I’d grow to actually appreciate is solo travel.

I’m a recovering codependent wife mom and Tia 🤣

So extensive alone time, while I love it… really was never a luxury I permitted myself without a smidge of guilt. by @lashleygee

ā€œCysteamine is gentler, safer and won’t cause redness or irritation like TGA liftsā€ …. Heard this before? Same.

The narrative that a KLL cannot and will not cause any discomfort to your clients is just an absolute myth. Even water can cause irritation on the right client with specific circumstances.

While cysteamine based solutions are slower processing and lower pH levels than traditional TGA alternatives, this does NOT mean they are ok to be in direct contact with the waterline or sensitive porous areas like the lash line for prolonged periods of time.

Everyone’s lipid barrier is different, skin care routines and medication regimen all play a role in how resistant and tough someone’s skin can be to irritants.

The same chemicals that open up the cuticle of the lashes in order to penetrate the lash and restructure the disulfide bonds for a lash lift are the same ones that can and will also alter the chemistry of a clients skin. It’s not an opinion it’s science.

So many ppl I see just slapping chemicals onto the waterline and tender lid skin then sealing with cling wrap for ungodly amounts of time! 😭😭😭

Then I see their after photos and videos with red puffy lids 😭😭😭 that clients only a few appointments away from a straight up allergy and that makes me so sad.

Pls take the seconds to be intentional about your solution placement from now on and be amazed at how much better your lifts look.

Sincerely your lash lift bestie that hates seeing swollen lids 😭 by @lashleygee

No but actually 🤣 I feel so lucky every single day that I get to combine my college education (from when I was crazy enough to think I could teach elementary school kids math) to helping my husband figure out how to run a barbershop then turning around and going to esthetics school myself… two of my favorite things ever are helping people learn, grow and develop skills to build a better life and change the trajectory of their life AND making the world a more beautiful place; one client at a time šŸ˜

When I was a kid, my mom pushed me to learn to type and got me a game for our home pc that she basically forced me to play every week 🤣 I was so annoyed when I wanted to play Sims but I’m soooo glad she did that! So helpful when I’m writing 40+ page curriculum

My dad worked with computers and always stressed how much coding and web design would be important in the future and had me design my first website for when I was in 6th grade ā€œALLABOUTASHLEYMEJIA.COMā€ 🤣 plus over summer he’d check out college level books from the library for me to write book reports on and submit to him šŸ™„

My Grama always reminded me how thinking of the future was so important. Save for a rainy day, understand that your actions don’t only affect you and to always do your best, because you never know who you’ll meet along the way.

Anytime my cousins came over I always wanted to play ā€œschoolā€ I was the teacher OF COURSE! And depending on their ages, I’d make customized worksheets for them 🤣

Growing up I thought my parents were sooooo weird for making me to stuff like that that none of my friends ever heard of. But fast forward a couple decades and all of those strange lectures and chores really set me up for the real world. Whether I’m setting up automations to grant yall access to our online courses, designing a last second landing page for an exclusive offer, designing a web page for applying to a program, creating a 100+ page slide deck for a class or presentation, and everything in between… I love what I do and I know little Ashley might not have known about this job haha but she’d be geeked out to know that it all worked out šŸ¤žšŸ½
