Worked my butt off at the cottage making the album art and merch for my debut single release later this month! If you haven’t already told me if you’re coming or not to the pre-release party on Friday July 24th please send me a DM or otherwise let me know!

I also want to recognize the absolute privilege it is to have this space, and have these views and thank the Chippewas of Stony and Kettle Point for welcoming us on their land. I’ve thought about this relationship a lot, and this place and the folks that live here have had an enormous impact on who I am.

This was my grandma and grandpa’s cottage back in the day. Grandpa ran the newspaper and had an uncanny ability to freehand lettering perfectly. Grandma had the uncanny ability to make you feel loved, and also ensure your spelling and grammar were right. I may not have gotten that, but I was definitely channelling him while I hand carved the linocut stamps for all of these designs.

All of the merch is hand made. Naturally one of a kind. I might not be able to do that forever, but for now it’s so fun knowing anyone supporting my music has a piece of me with them. I picked these shirts from a local store, hand washed them in the sink at the cottage (scroll to check out the drip drip drip drying time). I hand carved the stamps, hand painted where there were no stamps, and had to wait impatiently while it all dried. Ive decided since im a visual artist as well that i really can do all of this myself and really ought to cause it makes it even more special. Im planning to do limited edition prints for every single and release on the horizon!

So excited for this milestone! I waited until the final mix was ready before promoting (no jinx) but the date is fast approaching now. Friday July 24th come to Pour Boy Pub on Somerset to celebrate the pre-release of my first ever single!

This has been a long time in the making! My bestie @conormacneil and I have been working on this since last year, recording, mixing and fine tuning this song and so I’m grateful to Conor for all his support! by @lashy.mp3

Feb 19 - 7pm doors 7:30pm music @night.oat

I’ll keep playing small venues forever if that’s what I get the chance to do. I’m grateful for every opportunity to share my music with strangers and friends. There are so many universal themes and experiences and music that’s written real and raw helps us translate our experiences and feel so much less alone.

I remember when I wrote this song last spring while going through the most significant break up I’ve ever had (and honestly ever hope to)… I sent my friend @the.klifford.skies.project an audio message with the first verse and chorus when I was staying with my parents over Easter… he immediately got back to me that it brought him to tears and he sent it onto @bobby.the.roy who then put their heads together and sent me back an arrangement with my voice and lyrics on their guitar and keys.

We got together and jammed on it almost a year ago, in the house I used to live in, in the life I used to have. So it was a real trip to finally get to perform this one with @mindfuldrones and @fiddle431 last month.

Turns out I was always coming back to myself the whole time.
