Well we had a good cold front weekend . Put some deer on tailgates , eased a few peoples minds , but the hardest one is in the last slide here . Hate to see it . but nothing you can do about it . Photo credits @last_light_films by @last_light_films

No she didn’t , she ducked that one…… if u are hunting a mature doe aiming in the lower third will give u a bigger chance of recovery it

Everything about hunting is fun. 😁

The early mornings. The anticipation. The preparation. The scouting. The miles traveled. The memories made.
Even the little things, like riding into the woods on a beautiful fall morning.

It’s never been just about the kill. It’s about everything that comes with the pursuit.
Enjoy every part of it.

Huge shoutout to our camera guy, David Troyer, who absolutely crushed it on this trip! 😂

He did an incredible job behind the camera, but after spending several days putting up with my BS, I’ll be lucky if he ever agrees to work with me again.

By the end of the trip, he wasn’t even falling for my pranks anymore. Pretty sure I broke him. 🤣

Appreciate you, brother! Thanks for being a good sport and putting up with me!

As for whether Troyer the Destroyer will ever agree to film with me again… well, “we’ll see what happens. 👀🦌” by @last_light_films

“Shoot or pass?”
I see this question on social media way too often, usually without an ounce of nuance.
The truth is, there’s no cut-and-dry answer. And there shouldn’t be.
There are far too many variables to pretend there’s one universally correct answer.
    • What stage am I at in my hunting journey?
    • What are my personal goals as a hunter?
    • What’s the deer population like where I’m hunting?
    • Am I hunting public or private land?
    • How much hunting pressure does this property receive?
    • Is this an opportunity I might realistically get again?
    • Is this someone’s first buck? Their biggest buck?
Context matters. Perspective matters. Experience matters.
A buck I’d pass on today might be the same buck I would’ve been thrilled to harvest 10 years ago. And there’s nothing wrong with either decision.
Our goals evolve. Our standards change. But that doesn’t mean everyone else needs to be at the same place in their hunting journey.
One thing I do know is that there’s one question that should NEVER factor into your decision:
“Will strangers on social media ridicule me for taking this buck?”
If you’re hunting legally, ethically, and making a decision you’re proud of, you don’t owe anyone an explanation.
It’s not their tag. It’s not their hunt. And it’s not their memory to make.
Every Hunt Starts Somewhere.
