Look asking for help is not something I’m good at, but I’m learning closed mouths don’t get fed.

We are working hard to bring Den Music Fest 2025 to you this year and while we are planning to have shows in Atlanta and Los Angeles again this year, we need funding. Sponsors. Vendors.

Here’s my ask. If you are a business owner or know any business owners that want to partner with @denmusicfest, please let me know.

The value is there but we need money to help bring some of these ideas to fruition.

Please and thank you. by @lastnamegood

Things I’ve Told My Rapper Homies… But They Don’t Listen. 😂

Episode 9: YOU SHOULD BE DOING FEATURES. 🎤🤝🏾

And stop waiting for people to ask YOU.

Be proactive.

You hear an artist you like? Reach out.

You do a show with somebody and like what they did? Talk to them afterward.

You see somebody killing it in your city? Send the DM.

“Yo, I like what you’re doing. Let’s make a record.”

It really can be that simple.

And every feature doesn’t need to be about finding somebody with 100,000 followers or paying a popular rapper some crazy feature price.

Find DOPE PEOPLE who make sense with what you’re doing.

Because now you have two artists promoting the record.

Two audiences discovering somebody new.

Two communities sharing the same song.

You’re getting introduced to people who might’ve NEVER found your music otherwise — without having to spend a bunch of money on ads.

And remember when I told y’all to build community?

This is part of it.

Build relationships with other artists. Make good music together. Introduce your audiences to each other. And if the chemistry is there, DO IT AGAIN.

Stop waiting to be discovered and start creating opportunities to be discovered.

I’ve told my rapper homies this plenty of times…

But they don’t listen. 😂

Tag an artist you think you’d make a 🔥 record with. And if y’all actually make it, come back and let me hear it.

Look…I KNOW I missed a couple days.

CHILL. 😂

Life was life-ing, but Good was definitely still doing a lot.

First of all…look at this vending machine.

COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. 😳

That’s the kind of problem we like to have. 😂

Then the kids started GOLF LESSONS! ⛳️❤️ And I might be more excited about this than they are. I’m trying not to be that golf dad…but no promises.

The No Buffer crew also got out of the studio and hit Bon Ton here in Atlanta before they close. Food was 🔥, our waitress held us down, and whoever was controlling that playlist knew EXACTLY what they were doing.

Then we went upstairs and found the ’70s-themed shag room…

Yeah. 😂

Just go experience it while you still can.

Speaking of golf, I tried out a new course in Locust Grove—Heron Bay.

Beautiful course.

My game?

We’ll discuss that another day. 😭😂 Definitely gotta run that one back.

I’ve also been putting some work into taking better care of myself, and I’m happy with the progress I’m seeing. 💪🏾

And because this recap apparently wasn’t random enough…

Did I ever tell y’all about the time I got scammed out of like $600?! 😭

I told the whole story on The No Buffer Podcast…

And YES, I still have the fake money to prove it. 😂💵

Vending machines.
Golf lessons.
Good food.
More golf.
Taking care of myself.
And apparently counterfeit money.

This is exactly why this series is called #DoingGood. 😂

I may have missed a few days of posting…

but I definitely didn’t stop living.

We’re back. ✅

Day 28 of #DoingGood and of course we started at my favorite store…Costco. 😂

And before y’all ask—NO, that’s not everything we bought. 😭

Loaded up and headed to the first vending location where I was met with a little surprise…

The Coke machine that was sitting beside mine—and DIDN’T belong to me—was GONE. 👀

So apparently we have no more competition.

At least for now. 😂

Next location?

EMPTY.

I took last week off to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our anniversary, and clearly the customers did NOT take the week off from buying snacks and drinks. 😂

Can’t complain about that!

Finished the route, made it back home and apparently somebody forgot to tell me I opened a wildlife preserve.

Not one…

but TWO TURKEYS just casually hanging out in my backyard. 🦃🦃

I swear I have a whole zoo back there. 😂

Then it was time to switch gears and head to the studio to record The No Buffer Podcast.

And apparently the real competition today wasn’t at the vending location…

It was me vs. Big Sant in the Hoochie Daddy Shorts Championship. 😭😂

Meanwhile Chiane pulled up looking like Beyoncé and made both of us look ridiculous anyway. 😂

Costco ➡️ Vending ➡️ No competition ➡️ Sold-out machines ➡️ Backyard turkeys ➡️ Hoochie Daddy shorts.

Yeah…

Good still be doing a lot.

New episode of No Buffer Podcast drops TOMORROW! 🎙️

Things I’ve Told My Rapper Homies… But They Don’t Listen. 😂

Episode 8: LEARN TO RECORD YOURSELF. 🎙️

Matter fact…you slick should have your own little studio.

And I’m NOT talking about spending $10,000 building out some crazy room.

You need:

🎙️ A decent $100–$200 microphone
💻 A MacBook or PC
🎛️ Your DAW
🔌 An audio interface
🎧 Some headphones
🧩 A few plugins
📚 And enough knowledge to know how to use it all

That’s enough to get to work.

Because once you learn how to record yourself, you kill a whole bunch of excuses:

“Man, I couldn’t get into the studio.”

“Studio time too expensive right now.”

“My engineer wasn’t available.”

“I had an idea but couldn’t record it.”

Nah. Open the laptop and RECORD.

Now, am I saying you’ll never need a professional engineer or a real studio again?

Absolutely not.

There’s value in working with somebody who really knows how to record, mix and bring the best out of your music.

But you should be able to capture your own ideas, make demos, work on songs and CREATE without somebody else’s schedule or your studio budget determining when you can make music.

And think about the money.

If you’re spending $50–$100 an hour every time you want to experiment with a record, how long before a basic home setup pays for itself?

Remove as many barriers between you and creating as possible.

I’ve told my rapper homies this plenty of times…

But they don’t listen. 😂

Artists: can you record yourself right now? Or do you still have to book studio time every time you want to make something? 👀👇🏾

Day 27 of #DoingGood and today we’re going through submissions for Den Music Fest 2026. 🎶👀

And let me tell y’all…we take this part SERIOUSLY.

We’re not just looking for good songs. We’re looking for ARTISTS who can PERFORM.

One of our biggest rules?

Please don’t submit performance footage of you rapping or singing over your full vocals. 😭

We need to hear YOU.

We’re looking at stage presence. Crowd engagement. Confidence. Energy. How comfortable you are on stage. And most importantly, can you actually put on a SHOW?

Because having a great record and being a great live performer are two different skills.

Den Music Fest is about music discovery, and when somebody discovers you on our stage, we want them leaving saying:

“Yo…who was THAT?!”

That’s the standard.

So today we’re watching submissions, taking notes and looking for the artists who deserve that opportunity.

And to all my independent artists:

Work on your performance just as hard as you work on your music.

You never know who’s watching. 👀

Things I’ve Told My Rapper Homies… But They Don’t Listen. 😂

Episode 7: BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH DJs. 🎧

As a DJ, let me tell y’all something…

SEND US THE MUSIC.

If you have a song you’re actively pushing, DJs should have it.

And don’t just send the regular explicit version either.

Send the:

🎵 Explicit
🧼 Clean
🎤 Acapella
🎹 Instrumental

Make it EASY for a DJ to play, mix, blend and introduce your record to different crowds.

That clean version matters when we’re playing corporate events, radio, day parties or anywhere else the explicit version might not work.

The instrumental and acapella? Now you’re giving a creative DJ options to do something different with your record.

But here’s the bigger part:

BUILD THE RELATIONSHIP.

Don’t only hit a DJ with “Yo bro, can you play my song?” 😂

Get to know them. Support their events. Send them your releases. Ask for feedback. Keep them updated on what you’re pushing.

Because DJs are still one of the few people who can take your music and put it in front of a room full of people who didn’t come there to hear you.

And when that record works?

We notice.

Don’t wait until you need the DJ to introduce yourself to the DJ.

I’ve told my rapper homies this plenty of times…

But they don’t listen. 😂

Artists, tag a DJ you need to send your new record to.

DJs…what’s ONE thing you wish artists would do when sending you music? 👇🏾

Day 26 of #DoingGood is a special one…

14 YEARS! ❤️🥂

It’s our anniversary, so me and wifey decided to do something a little different and take a quick day trip to Nashville.

And when I say quick…I mean QUICK. 😂 That flight was about 30 minutes. Felt like we took off, they told us to put our tray tables up, and we landed.

First stop: Biscuit Love for breakfast before heading downtown.

Then we made our way to the National Museum of African American Music and this was easily one of our favorite stops. 🙌🏾 The exhibits were dope, interactive, and somehow we ended up making music AND dance videos. 😂🎶

From there we hopped on an hour-long bus tour and learned a little more about Nashville, saw the tallest building in Tennessee, a SIX-STORY diner, rode down Broadway past all the bars, saw the replica of the Parthenon, the Music City Walk of Fame and more.

Then we made our way to the food hall and found what might’ve been the surprise of the trip…

Those tacos from Dock Local?! 🔥🔥🔥

HIGHLY recommend. 😂

We even got a look at Dolly Parton’s new hotel that’s coming soon before heading right back to the airport and making our way home.

Nashville in a day. ✈️

But the best part wasn’t really Nashville.

It was getting another chance to experience something new with the person I’ve been doing life with for the last 14 years.

We’ve built a life. Built a family. Been through different seasons. Changed. Grown. And we’re still finding new places to go and new memories to make together.

That’s #DoingGood too. ❤️

And since we were traveling…

Y’all know Good Be Traveling had to make an appearance. 😂🌎

Happy Anniversary to us. 🥂

14 years down. Plenty more adventures to go.
