“Latayvian Woods-Smith was not on our radar.” State champ kinda has a ring to it 🤫😤

That quote pretty much sums up my state meet. From never making it out of districts to becoming a STATE CHAMP the feeling is so surreal! After sectional where I barely made it through, I was put in the “slow heat” for state and wasn’t really on anyone’s list of contenders. I just focused on running my race. When the second heat finished and the results came in, seeing my name at the top was something I never expected🥇. A few hours later, I finished 5th in the state in the 300 hurdles as well. I just want to thank my family, my coaches, my teammates, and God for supported me through it all!

Thank you to North Kansas City for the memories, the opportunity, And making me the first ever men’s hurdle state champ!!🥇 by @latayvianw
