Always, always attach the top tether when using a forward facing car seat. Some rotating seats also require the top tether while rear facing. The top tether reduces forward head motion by up to 4-6 inches in a crash. It is THAT important. Which is why we (CPSTs) talk about it so much. Check your vehicle manual to find your top tether locations in your vehicle! Questions? Send me a DM or comment below! #explore #cpst #momsofinstagram #carseatsafety by @latchandlatches

Switching from rear facing to forward facing is not as simple as just turning the seat around, even if you have a rotating seat! Always always read your manuals for instructions on installation and child fit for your own seat! #cpst #carseatsafety #newparents #explore

One of my favorite seats from the Kidz In Motion conference was the new @cybex_usa Callisto T 360! Comment “Cybex” and I’ll send you the link to this seat! 😍 The quick spring harness is a game changer for easy buckling!! No more digging under a child who does not want to be buckled 😅 IYKYK

Other features on the T 360 I love:
Rear facing to 50 lbs
360 rotation
One time installation
Flame retardant free fabrics
Sun canopy
On the go recline

Let’s chat misuse! Using the wrong belt path to install a car seat is a misuse I have seen on the internet and in real life. A study by University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute shows that using the incorrect belt path has significant impact on crash test results. Of course, these types of studies are very different than how a manufacturer crash tests their car seats for certification (hundreds of tests vs a few tests in this study). The UMTRI crash tested 3 different seats in different misuse situations & for rear facing, this misuse was the only one with significant impact. What does that mean for parents and caregivers? The same thing I always tell you! Read your car seat manual, meet with a CPST, ask questions if you’re not sure! Car seats are confusing, even though they come with a manual. That’s what CPSTs are here for!
