Story Time… ✨

This moment right here?
It was full-circle in the most powerful way.

I went to just about every high school in Durham, NC except Riverside. Eventually, I landed at Holton, which back then was labeled the “alternative school for bad kids.”

Now, 25 years later… GlamShe & Co. hosted our very first intern. And guess where she came from? Holton Career & Resource Center. 🙏🏾 @holtoncosmetology

Their cosmetology program equips students with hands-on salon experience, career prep, and a direct path to passing the NC State Board Exam. It’s building futures and it’s working.

When I was called to mentor Mariliz, I was genuinely excited. Not just because she’s talented, but because I saw a reflection of my younger self. I saw the passion. I saw the hustle. I saw the heart. I saw young Tefa, living in that little red house across from Holton on the corner of Southgate Street.

And now? I’m a business owner, pouring back into the same school I once walked through still trying to figure out who I was and who I could become. As the internship ended, I cried tears of joy. Because I did what they said I couldn’t. I did what they said I wouldn’t. 💯💪🏾

Mariliz, you are a true example of what it looks like to show up with purpose, even at just 16. Your professionalism, consistency, and heart for this industry are unmatched. Keep showing up like this and you’re going to go far. There’s a stylist position with your name on it after graduation.
GlamShe & Co. will always have a door open for you. 💕

A huge shoutout to my management team and every single member of GlamSheCo the love, patience, and guidance you poured into Mariliz didn’t go unnoticed. You showed up with grace and real mentorship, and that’s what sets us apart.

Yes, I run a tight ship 😂
But one thing’s for sure: WE ARE THEM GIRLS. The baddest in the city. The baddest in the game. And I couldn’t do this without y’all. 💕

This wasn’t just an internship.
It was a reminder.
A reflection.

❤️‍🔥 This is the moment I’ve been waiting for.

15 years of game… and now I’ma give you every piece of game I got 👑

For 15 years, I had to figure it out.
Nobody handed me the blueprint.
I built it while learning it.

I sacrificed.
I failed.
I started over.
I took risks.
I made mistakes.
I learned business.
I learned people.
I learned how to keep going when nobody was clapping.
