Small and mighty: a turbo SR20VET in a K11 Micra 🫡

@later_k11 built this Micra for fun, not trophies. Nissan’s NEO VVL SR20, a front-mount and a lot of heat wrap, in a car that was designed to do the shopping.

Send this to the mate who reckons you need a big car to have fun.

One month on!

There’s been a lot of radio silence on my side since retiring the car after this year’s WTAC.

Just to clear a few things up — the car will 100% still be making appearances at local race events such as QLD Time Attack, as well as weekend events like All Asian Day etc.

The support this car has received has been second to none. I genuinely need to say a huge thank you to my sponsors, because this car would never have become the monster it is today without their help.

@haltech for the incredible customer support and, most importantly, the best ECU on the market.

@raceworks_aus for the years of ongoing support. Raceworks were the first people to jump on board and help get the car to where it is today, and I honestly wouldn’t have been able to get it to its current level without their support.

Last but not least, thank you to everyone here!

The community this car has created is genuinely incredible, and I’m extremely grateful for everyone who has followed along, supported the build and been part of the journey.

Mathew has done a great blog if you wish to have a read!

WTAC on film❤️

Thank you @hopefully.david for the photos. by @later_k11

This illustrates perfectly the diversity of cars entered into @worldtimeattackchallenge from a balls to the wall Lambo down to a Micra and BRZ all built differently but for the same goal, #oneperfectlap

Not our usual scene but definitely one of the best weeks we’ve had in long time. Big ups to our boy Sean for making it happen. by @later_k11

After a huge weekend filled with plenty of ups and downs, we’ve finally finished WTAC 2026. Unfortunately, it also feels like the end of an era for the mighty K11.

As many of you know, my father passed away two years ago. Since losing him, if I’m being truthful, I’ve never really found the same drive to race again. Motorsport has always been a massive part of my life, and I’ll always love it, but something has just felt different since he’s been gone.

This little K11 has been such a huge part of my life. We’ve had some incredible times, plenty of setbacks, late nights, broken parts, PBs, laughs and memories that I’ll never forget.

I’ll never sell the car. It means far too much to me for that.

But I do feel like it’s time to retire her from racing for good, give her the love she deserves and just enjoy having her around again without always chasing the next lap time.

It’s a pretty emotional way to finish WTAC, but I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has helped, supported us, worked on the car or simply followed along over the years.

The mighty K11 isn’t going anywhere.

She’s just earned her retirement ❤️ by @later_k11

Small car. Big heart. An unlikely time attack weapon. 🔥

Sean Austin’s 550HP Nissan Micra is taking on the Haltech Clubsprint Class at WTAC, but there’s far more to this build than chasing lap times.

We discover the challenges of transforming this unconventional platform and the family connection that makes it so special.

Wrapped up an amazing weekend in Queensland with the Road to WTAC team, @middle.twix and @mondaymade, filming some incredible stories that you’ll be seeing over the coming weeks.

Thank you to everyone who gave us your time, welcomed us into your homes and workshops and shared your journey with us both on and off camera. Every time we hit the road I’m reminded that while the cars are amazing, it’s the people behind them who are the real reason this community is so special. Amazing humans creating amazing cars that do amazing things.

I hope we can do your stories justice.

See you again in Sydney soon, friends. 🤘 by @later_k11
