We are so back! 😎🪻🍃🌼 I started taking classes again this month, and it feels good to move my body in this way. It does mean my abs and body are always in some dull pain, but core strength is definitely something I want to work on. Plus, a little ballet cross-training doesn’t hurt. I’ve been loving these @lunaluna.ballet pieces for class! 🩰

I’ve always been a warm-up person, so when I saw the Montana romper, I had to try it. I love that I can wear it as-is or roll it down into shorts once I start to get warm.

And of course I had to get the Lucky leg warmers to match. The balloon-y bottom is so cute! 💓

They’ve both been getting lots of wear (and compliments!) lately.

Only two more opportunities to take pointe class before the year is over, and I still have not finished sewing the Nikolay pointe shoes I got months ago. 😳 Only one side is done lol. (Do I even bother at this point??) For now, I’m making it work with these boots. My instructor helped me break my left shoe more, and that made me feel more secure and confident doing one-legged moves on my left side. But I know overall it won’t feel as good as the Nikolays, so, yeah, I should really just finish sewing them. 🫠 by @latetoballet

🎄⚔️🩰 Happy Nutcracker Season to all who celebrate! 🐀👑❄️ Sadly, I will not be able to reprise my role as a mother in the party scene this year (🥲💔), as one of the performance days conflicts with my travel schedule. I hear rehearsals are going well, and I am so excited to see what other roles everyone gets! The second thing is that one of my big toenails is coming off lolz. I could feel that I had hurt it in a previous pointe class and lo and behold, here we are. Such a slow process, but it means that I’ve been out of pointe class for a couple months now, as it has been detaching. It’s 90% there, so here’s hoping I can take pointe class soon again. I’m able to still take technique class but the pressure is horrible when I put on my pointe shoes. Other things I’ve been up to besides ballet: fishing, enjoying the outdoors, salsa class(!), spending time with friends who visit, juggling…😳 (😆) by @latetoballet

I was really excited to go dancewear shopping while I was in NYC. There is only one dance store where I live and options are quite limited. It was so fun to browse products in person and try on different items to at least know what size I am. Here’s what I brought back:

Pics 1-2: New pointe shoes from @onstagedancewearny! The workers are so nice and helpful. Tried on a bunch of shoes and a Nikolay came out on top. I’ve only ever got fitted for one shoe so I’m excited to try something totally new!

Pics 3-4: The timing of my trip could not have been more perfect because @elevedancewear has a store pop-up, and it was so close to where I was staying. Ended up going in for some new warm-ups—a shrug and leggings in a matching green color.

Pic 5: Visited the @blochdanceusa store and finally got the foot roller I’ve been eyeing online and also picked up pointe shoe glue (which doesn’t ship to where I live).

Pic 6: Also went to the @capezio flagship store in the city. Picked up a new leo and warm-up pants, both of which I wore during my ballet intensive.

A rare and memorable part of my @nycballet Ballet Essentials Workshop Weekend (#beww25) experience: Taking class from legendary @wendyw. Even though I was feeling nervous at first, and I quickly realized her class was going to be a fun challenge, I simply remembered that I am in New York City, at #newyorkcityballet, and I came here to dance my heart out. So that’s what I did, just gave it my all with all my heart—even if I didn’t execute everything at 100%(😆). I’m honestly surprised at how much I could keep up. I finally felt like I had locked in, like I was flying across the floor. I had so much fun and Wendy was so upbeat and encouraging.🩰🪽 This entire four-day experience made me feel proud of how far I’ve come in my own ballet journey, but I think it was during this class that really made me feel it. I was very much in the moment, but I was also thinking about how much appreciation I have for my instructors back home—especially Miss Blake—because doing this entire workshop, especially getting through this class, felt like a milestone. And it is because of them that I had confidence in myself to just go for it and dance for myself. 🤍 #balletessentials taken in New York City Ballet by @latetoballet

Theater tour and inside look at @nycballet’s costume closet. So much fun learning about the theater’s history, the story behind the artwork on display, and architecture design. It was made to look like a jewelry box, and just like in a jewelry box, the ballerina is at the center on the stage. Deb, who led our tour, made this so incredibly fun, and was very kind and encouraging to all us.
