✝️ Pretty on Purpose 💫

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My #wcw is me! This year has been the most physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging year of my life.

Navigating grief, depression, anxiety, and things I never imagined carrying all at once, and for the most part, internally. There were days I didn’t know how I would stay focused enough to think straight, let alone finish another degree with honors.

But I did. Not perfectly. Not gracefully every day. But faithfully, with my broken heart yet steadfast trust in God. Some nights ended at 11:59pm on the dot IYKYK and some nights didn’t end at all! I am full proof of His Grace and Mercy.

Strength doesn’t always look like having it all together. Sometimes it looks like showing up anyway. Submitting the assignment anyway. Getting out of bed anyway. Choosing to keep going when everything in you wants to stop.

And through it all, I’m embracing every ending because I understand they are the catalysts for my new beginnings and blessings beyond my imagination.

This degree is more than an accomplishment for me. It’s confirmation of my ability to survive, push through, and rise.. even in seasons that try to break me.

So this isn’t just another graduation season for me to celebrate. I also celebrate my continuous journey of becoming all I’m here to be, to do. I’m so grateful for those who have and continue to support me!

Here’s to healing, to growth, to new beginnings, and to everything I’m still becoming. There’s a million things I haven’t done, but just you wait.. and while we’re waiting, be sure to put that M.S. behind my name!

𝓗𝓮𝓻 power isn’t measured by the struggles she faces, but by the courage she carries through them. 𝓗𝓮𝓻 journey is an ode to the strength and resilience every woman embodies, unapologetically. Tell 𝓱𝓮𝓻 story this month.

We can make many plans, but God’s purpose will prevail at the end of the day.😭 Divine and strategic positioning is according to His will and timing, and it’s all still so funny and fitting at the same time to me! never discerned this assignment, but my obedience is how I was able to complete this 4-year degree in half the time w/ honors. One journey ended. Another was already beginning. 💙🎓✨
Grateful for every lesson, every challenge, and every person who poured into me along the way including amazing women like AA VP Dr. Harrell, Associate Dean Dr. Weigle, Manuela and Ms. Pirozzi from SET! These experiences are all helping shape the woman I’m becoming.. and s/o ODUAA for featuring my mom and I for the past 2 years and counting.!

Throwback to the Student Awards & Honors dinner where I was honored with the prestigious Kaufman Award! The Kaufman Award is the highest honor given to a graduating ODU student of outstanding merit, influence, and commitment to the university and community, named after philanthropist Charles L. Kaufman. An old friend jokingly regarded the honor as a “DEI” award. I brushed it off with confidence in who and Whose I am, and why I was one of the chosen honorees among thousands. I never shared this moment, as with a lot, but I’m still so honored and grateful.
