Vortex (渦) is out.
We’re as excited as two kids to present Vortex to you, a journey through the photographic work of Daisuke Ichiba, a Japanese illustrator, comic artist, photographer and musician based in Tokyo. One of the most unique and radical voices in the contemporary underground art and comics scene.
Far from any attempt to reassure or celebrate, Daisuke Ichiba’s work represents a ruthless and fascinating exploration of the contradictions of human nature.
64 pages, colors. The photo sequence, arranged from right to left and the usual print run of 100 copies. Link in bio, We ship anywhere.

Just love

Scab is Ye Zeng Yi Li's fourth publication. Another enlarged glimpse into the spectrum of the Beijing-based artist. Scenarios change, relationships shift, and life splatters away like a drop of semen. 4x5 Polaroids, drawings on film, enlargements from Polaroid negatives, and expired film. As always, 100 copies, 80 pages, black and white and color, stapled.

Just love

Pàm by Michael Northrup is out🏴@michaelenorthrup
There is always something therapeutic about the authors we choose to publish, but far be it from us to do so on purpose; we are simply attracted by how certain compulsions drive some photographers to focus on a specific subject to the point of elevating it and transforming it into a personal mythology that also becomes collective.
Michael Northrup photographed his wife Pam as Masahisa Fukase photographed Yōko Wanibe.
He did so from 1976 to 1988, traversing the phases of their relationship with unyielding irony and his unmistakable stylistic imprint.
80 pages, bw/color. Link in bio.

IMPORTANT:
Notice to all friends in the U.S.: Again because of Trump's tariffs, we are forced to ship all publications first to one of our contacts in the states, and only then will they be shipped back internally.
This means that we would have to wait at least a week to have a minimum of sold publications to ship. On the other hand, if you are in a particular hurry, and don't mind spending more, write to us (don't buy) and we will ship the publication to you by DHL courier.

SOLD OUT.
A trip by Soup and Mike Brodie.

Although this publication is visually based on Mike Brodie's unpublished body of work of "A Period of Juvenile Prosperity," and although we recognize the same atmosphere as in that book,
Soup is not an epilogue.
Here, the protagonist of the photographer's most famous and mainstream photo is given a voice, and through his fleeting stories, he undermines the last remnants of the reader's comfort zone. Because Soup is a nickname behind which hides not only an adventurer, but above all a writer and a creative mind tormented by an aggressive form of schizophrenia.

If A Period of Juvenile Prosperity is an iconic and cinematic book that marked a before and after in the story of American subcultures, Soup, on the other hand, embodies the retaliation of mythology on the icon. And if the after coincides with the immediate availability we are forced to accept (with the inevitable death of adventure for its own sake), the before returns to the attack using the same tools that wrote its end. A resurrected executioner.

Soup, 80 pages, Photographs by Mike Brodie, Text and drawings by Soup.

This is a war universe. War all the time. That is its nature. There may be other universes based on all sorts of other principles, but ours seems to be based on war and games. All games are basically hostile. Winners and losers. We see them all around us: the winners and the losers. The losers can oftentimes become winners, and the winners can very easily become losers.

Breathe, -Early work-
Ed Templeton X Mike Brodie.
@mikebrodie_thepolaroidkidd
@ed.templeton
-------------------
Forget about it!
I am old enough to remember when I was on the streets with my friends and If we exclude writers the only artist we all knew was Ed Templeton.
The same thing was true of Mike Brodie.
Both told the subcultures from the inside, the distance between their lives and their work was zero, so everyone could in a way recognize themselves in them.
So, one day I asked Mike if he would like to
publish something of his early work, maybe unpublished, and blend it with the early work of another photographer, someone who had a similar vibe, we immediately thought of Ed Templeton.
So we proposed this suggestion to Ed, and he enthusiastically accepted. Forget about it!
Breathe is 80 pages, color and black and white, usual print run of 100 copies and maximum one copy per person. Link in bio.

You are me, Ye Zeng Yi Li, LatoPaper, 2023.
The book, printed in only 50 copies has rightly flown by in a few hours, every now and then I come back and look at it, opening it at random; I think it is a seminal work, poignant but also playful.
I post a few pages to give it a little due tribute.
