This morning (during a very lively debate about whether Aries or Leo truly rules the Zodiac, I swear I cannot make this up), my hero passed away peacefully, surrounded by family.

True to who he was, Papa Bembry fought to the very end to stay with us. He only let go once my mom told him she would be okay and that he could finally rest. And that’s exactly the kind of man he was - devoted, loyal, and deeply in love with his wife of 53 years.

My dad was strong, funny, opinionated (who does that sound like?), intelligent, and fiercely protective of his family. He raised me to be self-sufficient, to speak my mind, to never be afraid to ask questions, and to be independent… although he would say he did too good of a job with that last part.

I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the overwhelming kindness our family has experienced over the past week. From the incredible hospital staff at MountainView, to the angels at Nathan Adelson Hospice who went above and beyond to make my dad’s transition comfortable and treated our family like their own, to the professionals at Palm Northwest who made such a difficult process feel easy, comforting, and stress-free, thank you. And to our extended family, friends, coworkers (too many to list), and even strangers, who showed up with prayers, love, support, and food, you have my gratitude. My faith in humanity has been restored. From this day forward, I promise to always lead with kindness to pay forward the kindness bestowed upon my family.

We love you, Papa Bembry. We will cherish you always and your spirit lives on in each of us. Until we meet again. by @latoyabembry

My little Coco Nash (yes, named after the basketball great) passed away earlier today. It was somewhat sudden, yet the day had been coming for awhile now. I adopted her from the Nevada SPCA 13 years ago and it’s the best $150 I have ever spent. I had no intention of ever owning a dog again after our family lost our Shih Tzu Kobe (yes, named after the basketball legend) but a chance meeting with this little chocolate ball of fur during a client event walkthrough changed my life forever. Coco made a suitable “grand dog” for my parents, thankfully buying me time until my brother could produce an actual human grand baby 😂. I’m eternally grateful that she passed away comfortably in her own home, next to me and her little sis Cookie.

Rest In Peace and Power my little Coco Boo-Boo, thank you for being my bestie and choosing me to be your Dog Mama. Say hello to Lily, Spike and Princess for us. 🐶❤️🙏🏾 by @latoyabembry

Happy Veterans Day to my Dad — my hero. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

We’re spending Veterans Day in the oncology clinic, wrapped up in blankets, both freezing and starving while he watches Game of Thrones for the umpteenth time like it’s his first episode. And we both desperately need some lotion on these hands, don’t judge.

I’m grateful for his service to this country, but I’m even more grateful for the father he’s been to me. Keep him in your prayers as he continues to fight the fight of his life.

Tonight, the Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2025—Lion Pride—officially graduates, and what a journey it has been. 🦁💚

This past year has been fulfilling, challenging, enlightening, and so much fun. I wouldn’t trade a single moment. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with the business leaders, changemakers, and nonprofit champions who make Las Vegas the best place to live, work, and serve.

A special thank you to my Life Journey Group leader, @juliecane322, for your unwavering guidance and heart. And to our fearless leaders @travador86 and Elizabeth Hunterton—your passion and commitment shaped this class into something truly extraordinary. Thank you for leading us with both heart and soul.

To my fellow Lions: the friendships we’ve built are forever.💚

Huge thanks to my incredible Leadership Las Vegas classmate, Karen Skrypak Sheets, for going above and beyond!

Karen graciously hosted The Ferraro Group for a tour of MGM Aviation, and it was nothing short of amazing. I had missed the original Leadership Las Vegas tour, and Karen made sure my coworkers and I got the chance to experience it firsthand — showing us how the high rollers fly in serious style!
