Continue to Rest in Eternal Peace,
My sweet Wesley

Grief and Loss

Grief hovers quietly
in the corners of the day—
a wispy shadow where laughter, happiness, hope, and joy used to dwell

It does not ask permission
or announce itself. It does not knock softly.
It barges in, uninvited, with a scent, a song,
a silence too long.

Loss does not leave.
It changes its shape—
from a cutting, sharp ache to a hollow echo,
from heavy weight to soft, wispy, wind.

It integrates itself into the fabric of our being.
A part of our waking. A part of our sleeping.
It colors our hopes and invades our dreams

We learn to carry it,
not because it lessens,
but because we grow stronger
in the holding.
And that hollow echo becomes a sacred space
Where precious memories and a cascade of tears reside.

May God bless you abundantly today. May your laughter far outweigh your tears.

Fun Fact

The Mind your business coin

The "mind your business coin" refers to the Fugio Cent, the first official coin of the United States, authorized by Congress in 1787.
Designed with input from Benjamin Franklin, its obverse features a sundial with the word "Fugio" (Latin for "I fly"), symbolizing time, and the inscription "Mind Your Business," which encouraged diligence and focus on one's own affairs. by @latrishasmithbarney

This song of Solomon reading is perfect for New Beginnings.
No matter where we find ourselves, we can always begin again.
God is a God of second chances and new beginnings.
Happy Easter. Embrace your Springtime.
May you prosper and be in good health.

For now is the time, my beautiful one.
The season has changed,
the bondage of your barren winter has ended,
and the season of hiding is over and gone.

The rains have soaked the earth
and left it bright with blossoming flowers.
The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived.
I hear the cooing of doves in our land,
filling the air with songs to awaken you
and guide you forth.

Can you not discern this new day of destiny
breaking forth around you?
The early signs of my purposes and plans
are bursting forth.

The budding vines of new life
are now blooming everywhere.
The fragrance of their flowers whispers,
“There is change in the air.”. . .

For now is the time to arise and come away with me.
For you are my dove, hidden in the split-open rock.

It was I who took you and hid you up high
in the secret stairway of the sky.
Let me see your radiant face and hear your sweet voice.
How beautiful your eyes of worship
and lovely your voice in prayer.”
