𝐏𝐀𝐓 𝐜𝐚𝐟é 🇫🇷

It would be so cool to say I actually own a cute pastel café like this! (and specialized in Korean sweets with red beans 🫘🥹) but it's actually owned by a very kind korean lady who's been living in Paris for around 15 years (thank you for the nice chit chat ✨💕).

I came across this cute spot when I was preparing my list of cafés in Google Maps and I had to look twice to make sure it was actually "Pat", like my name haha
But it actually comes from the Korean word 팥, which actually means 'red bean' (when I discovered that while learning Korean years ago I got super excited as I love red beans!! ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡).

So in a nutshell: it was a mandatory stop! Also, it is just a few steps away from the Jardin du Luxembourg, where you can go after ordering a drink and sweets here and bring it to the beautiful gardens ✨ (I was blessed to catch some sun that day!).

They specialize in a very cute sweet called hodu gwaja, with the shape of a walnut, filled with red beans and nuts. You can get different sets depending on the amount you want (the set with more comes with different flavors too!). Also, they offer a beautiful set if you want to gift it as a present 🎁

They also offer coffee and other warm and cold drinks! I almost go for my usual matcha latte, but guess what... there was a much more fitting option:

𝐏𝐀𝐓 latte!

So I obviously chose that one 🤭

If you're in Paris and you're curious about these Korean sweets, definitely go take a look! And visit also their other business @hohohoparis in Le Marais, where they also offer bingsu and other interesting options!

𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐲, Amsterdam 🇳🇱

Spent a weekend in Amsterdam with my friend as we were going to the @joehisaishi.official concert (incredible experience! ✨) and on Sunday morning we came across this beautiful café just a few steps away from Centraal Station!!
We were not planning to stop by but the ambience and decoration really pulled us in, glad we stayed! 🪴

They have a wide range of pastries and sweets, as well as savory food 🥪🥐 perfect for breakfast (or brunch!). They also offer specialty coffee and matcha 🍵 by @lot61coffee

The place is very spacious and you can see downstairs part of the restaurant @janine.amsterdam that also has a very elegant vibe ✨

A place to start your morning right, with the kindness of their baristas (shoutout to Juliana and Giselle 🫶🏻 also spanish speakers) and the calm environment. If you choose to sit facing the street, you can also do some peaceful people(and dog)-watching 🪟

🇫🇷 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞 𝐱 𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚 🇯🇵

Living 1.5h away from Paris has its perks! Like being able to try pop-ups like this one by @lacigne.paris and @kisa_matcha 🍵

It's can be hard to do a selection of good cafés in Paris, but when it comes to good matcha, the list gets narrower. When I came across this pop-up on Instagram, I definitely wanted to come as it is a limited collab that only lasts until July! And it only opens on Sundays from 1pm to 7pm. My intuition told me it must be a hidden gem that should definitely not be missed ✨

The café is close to the Canal Saint Martin, which I still hadn't visited, so it was the perfect opportunity to explore the area (some scenes from Amélie were filmed there!). It was initially gonna be a rainy day, but we were blessed with some unexpected sun ☀️

The pop-up is super beautiful, where every element is taken into careful consideration and with great care. The display of mochis felt like it was some kind of jewelry exhibition! And each order (mostly matcha, as expected) was crafted with love and enthusiasm. You can sense how they love what they do ♡

They offer 3 types of menu depending on how many elements you want to include (from 1 to 2 sweets + beverage), but you can also order separately.

I went for the "Ichi" option, including 1 mochi and 1 beverage. The matcha looked super good so I decided to take it in usucha form (no milk, only mixed with water), to taste the flavor without interferences. It was delicious!! I felt I teleported to Japan for a moment 🍵

There were exclusive seasonal mochi (sakura), but in the end I chose hojicha flavor ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ I really liked the flavor and texture! The quality is undeniable. I liked it so much I got another for takeaway, this time the matcha and azuki one 🫘

If you're in Paris before July ends and you love authentic matcha and mochi, you cannot miss this pop-up! 🤍

- Avenue Jules Malou (Etterbeek)

But there are some more around the city! One location even called Avenue des Cerisiers 🌸

The petals look extra beautiful on sunny days, we've been blessed! I hope you've been able to enjoy them, as they are almost gone now 🥹 Yet another reminder of being present and cherishing the view.

Had a fun weekend discovering new cafés in Brubru 🇧🇪 with @__lulu._.lulu ! ♡

One morning we had breakfast at @seven.brussels, super close to the Parc Cinquantenaire, and the ambience was extremely relaxing ✨ It started with only a couple of customers but some minutes after it started to become full! Recommended to visit before 11:30 if you can, but the menu gets more interesting from that moment onwards 😁

Oh! and they have both @kage.matcha and @matcha.iro 🍵
