Happy PokeĢmon Day to those who celebrate šŸ’› I got my first Game Boy in 1998, and in 1999, when PokeĢmon Red and Blue first came out in Spain, my parents surprised me with the game. I didnā€™t have many to play besides Yoshi, so that cartridge basically changed my life šŸ„¹ Since then, PokeĢmon has been my favorite franchise. I still play the new releases and my current obsession is hunting down PokeĢfuta and all the PokeĢmon-themed spots around Japan šŸ”Ž which has become a whole side quest of its own! A brand new Lapras Park opened in Japan šŸ’™ Lapras is easily in my top 5 favorite PokeĢmon, so I had to visit when this park opened at the end of last year! šŸ“ Moririn Kasenuma Park, Rifu The playground is inspired not only by Lapras, but also by other water and ice-type PokeĢmon, which is such a fun detail! And thereā€™s also a brand-new PokeĢfuta installed here āœØ šŸ’§ Why Lapras? Back in July 2019, Lapras was officially appointed as the regionā€™s PokeĢmon Ambassador to help promote tourism and celebrate its beautiful coastline. After being deeply affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, Laprasā€™ calm, sea-loving nature became a symbol of resilience and hope šŸ«¶šŸ» You can actually spot Lapras all around Miyagi, from themed pedal boats and special events to adorable manhole covers šŸ’™ After the park, we even went hunting for another PokeĢfuta nearby! PokeĢmon trainers visiting Tokyoā€¦ good news! āœØ After its renovation, PokeĢmon CafeĢ Tokyo in Nihombashi will officially reopen on June 17 šŸŽ‰ šŸ“… Reservations for visits through July 7 opened last month, but a new batch of reservations for July 8ā€“31 was released a few days ago. August dates will be announced later. The reopening will also bring menu changes, with several dishes being retired but new cute ones coming šŸ‘€ and theyā€™re also introducing the new show ā€œLetā€™s Make a Pika Pika Parfaitā€! šŸØ And if you canā€™t get a reservation, the merchandise shop will still be accessible without one! Wild PokeĢmon appeared at PokeĢPark KANTO! āš”ļøšŸŒæ Walking through the park and suddenly spotting PokeĢmon everywhere is such a cute experience šŸ„¹āœØ Here are the main areas where you can find them: šŸŒæ PokeĢmon Forest: a beautiful nature trail with 600+ life-sized PokeĢmon hidden in adorable story-like scenes šŸŽ” Sedge Town: between rides, food stalls and parades (donā€™t miss Pika Pika Paradise + Vee Vee Voyage!)
