Following @ethanjmathias is a full time job.
At 17 Ethan is in college full time, studies independently plus he’s in multiple professional projects including his own cabaret show at an off-Broadway cabaret and this new Equity show!
The woman that has the full time job of shepherding this phenom is his mom @mommabears26
In her own words:
Story time... A few months ago, Ethan was cast in a new musical that opens this week as an Actors’ Equity showcase production, in the off-Broadway theatre where Urinetown got its start!
The show, Elysian Fields - A New Musical, is written by Steve Fisher and his husband Marc Fliedner. We first met them in 2021, when Steve cast Ethan in the off-Broadway play The Last Boy. That’s what brought us to NYC in the summer of 2021. The show workshopped in February 2022 and performed at Town Hall that April, so we got an apartment here, and we’ve been here ever since.
We’ve stayed in touch with Steve and Marc, and Ethan has done a few projects with Steve from time to time. Last summer, Marc came to see Ethan’s solo cabaret show and LOVED it. Soon after, he told us that he and Steve were writing a new musical and wanted to create a character for Ethan.
This week, that character and show come to life. Ethan has loved working with this team on this project. It’s a supporting role, so he’s been able to manage rehearsals, attending college full time (taking 17 credits), and keeping up with other opportunities that he’s been fortunate enough to be involved in.

This journey has taught me that God’s timing is PERFECT. Every audition, every rehearsal, every sacrifice, every closed door, and every moment of doubt has been part of a much bigger purpose.

I’m not just chasing dreams anymore… I’M WALKING IN THEM! ✨

“They told me I was being ‘delusional.’ But at 49 years old, I just signed with one of the top modeling and talent agencies in Canada.”

For years, my focus was exactly where it belonged: on my babies. As a little girl, I visualized being a mom who could stay home, raise her kids, and give them the life they deserved. I got exactly that. My kids—who are now adults—will always come first.
But once they grew up, I found myself standing at a crossroads.

See, as a little girl, I also visualized being a runway model and an actress. When the time came to revisit that dream, I didn’t even know what the formal word “manifestation” meant. I just knew what was in my heart, my mind, and my soul.

I started doing deep internal work. I wrote in my journal, I scripted my life, and I acted as if it was already mine. I was stubbornly, fiercely, beautifully delusional.

People can say whatever they want. But being layout-level optimistic and tuning into that frequency—seeing it in your mind before it happens in front of your eyes—is the only way.

Now, at 49, I am constantly doing auditions, living my childhood dream, and standing as proof that your timeline belongs to you.
This transformation is exactly why I built my new website, my upcoming course, and my e-book. I’m putting my absolute raw authenticity and realness into these tools to show you exactly how to script your own reality.

We lost an icon in our industry, and this loss is personal. Dann was one of our scouts and colleagues.
His long career included international fashion model, director of a major modeling event, model agent at top fashion agency Irene Marie in Miami, photographer, stylist, art director…
But more importantly he was a dedicated friend, son, brother and husband to @benim1
You touched so many lives Dann and always in a caring and loving way. I can literally feel the grief rippling around the globe through all the lives you touched and all the friends who are grieving your loss. Rest my friend @drweir 💔 by @launchshowcase

Three months after our July 2-6 Showcase the posts of gratitude keep coming in.
Thank you @issytheevlogger We’re so excited to follow your success in the industry.

In Khalyssa’s own words:
Launch Showcase is an annual three-day training program and networking event designed to promote aspiring actors, models, singers, and dancers for the entertainment industry.

I worked with Launch Direct’s acting coach on my monologue and TV script for 6 months prior to this event to make sure everything was on point for the audition. We met regularly to perfect my craft.

The entire weekend of Launch Showcase is centered around hands-on workshops and training for runway modeling, commercial print modeling, film and television auditions, and stage performance.

I enjoyed the industry access aspect of the entire weekend because all participants got a chance to perform their talents directly in front of well known talent agents, casting directors, and producers from major markets who then offered call backs and contracts to participants who really stood out the most!

I am forever grateful for this experience, and I cannot wait to show yall what the future holds for me as a newly signed actress and model!

@jack821870 & Kim just launched what is the beginning of Jack’s 2nd chapter in the music industry. Working with @mattwilderofficial, @tomworth7, @briandmaher, Jane and @sophbolen & as well as other heavy hitters in the music industry.
Next trip Jack will complete the album and turn it over to Andre at his label @iswimwithsharksincofficial a division of Sony for distribution.
In Jack’s own words:
It is greet to be home and get back to our “normal” lives, but... it feels strange not writing with Tom Worth or Brian Maher, or doing vocals with Matt Wilder, or listening to the all star band that brought my music to life. That being said, it is just a short time before I go back for more. I have thanked so many people for this new chapter in our lives, but I would not be doing this without the Launch Showcase! If you have a talent(Acting, modeling, dance or singing) I would encourage you to check it out! Thank you Lynn Clark for literally talking me into doing the singing showcase. by @launchshowcase

Timothy James Curry studied Drama & English at Birmingham University, & graduated with Combined Honors.
His first professional success was in the London production of “Hair”, followed by more work in the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Glasgow Citizens Repertory Company, & the Royal Court Theatre where he created the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Show”. He recreated the role in the Los Angeles & Broadway productions & starred in the movie.
The part almost didn’t exist the way we know it. Richard O’Brien first wrote Frank-N-Furter as a German scientist in a lab coat — it was Curry who helped rebuild him into the creature in the corset who spoke like the Queen.
The midnight crowds found it, dressed as him, threw the toast, did the Time Warp & never stopped.
51 years later it’s still playing, a weekly ritual that gave generations of people the same message from the man in the fishnets: come in, sit down, you’re home… & he was never just Frank.
Curry continued his career on the New York & London stages with starring roles in “Travesties”, “Amadeus”, “The Pirates of Penzance”, “The Rivals”, “Love for Love”, “Dalliance”, “The Threepenny Opera”, “The Art of Success”, & “My Favorite Year”. He also starred in the United States tour of “Me & My Girl”. He received two Tony Award nominations for best actor & won the Royal Variety Club Award as “Stage Actor of the Year”.
A composer & a singer, Curry toured the United States & Europe with his own band & released four albums on A&M Records.
He was Wadsworth in Clue, Pennywise in “It”, Darkness in Legend, Miss Hannigan’s rat of a brother in Annie, the concierge chasing Kevin through the Plaza.
After a stroke in 2012 took his ability to walk, he kept right on working — voice roles, & a 50th-anniversary celebration of Rocky Horror just last year, still meeting the fans who’d found themselves in his shadow.
Losing him right after Dolly is almost too cruel.
2 people who spent fifty years telling the odd ones out that they were exactly right as they were.
The midnight movie never ended. Neither will his legacy by @launchshowcase

There are many in our orbit that met Dolly, loved & adored Dolly, are grieving Dolly but one among us had the trajectory of her life shaped by Dolly while working/performing at Dollywood, so I felt it fitting to honor this connection and dedicate this post to Dolly Parton through @ella.grace.francis’s post…

“Dolly Parton has given me so much of what I have in this beautiful life. It’s so weird because I never actually knew her, yet I attribute so much of my life to loving and being inspired by her. 🩷

My college essay topic was about how loving Dolly Parton has changed the trajectory of my life.

As an artist, her music has touched my soul since I was 6 years old. Her lyricism has carried me through some of the hardest times in my life. The emotion in her voice and art will never be matched. She showed us how to embrace beautiful, glamorous femininity without ever sacrificing our strength.

As a person, working in Dollywood under her leadership gave me so much clarity about what I want to do with my life. My love for performing FLOURISHED, and I now know that I want to perform professionally for a living… all because I loved Dolly Parton.

I have the most beautiful and strong friendships, and so much love in my life, because of that experience alone. 🫶🏻
She gave me my dreams that no one can take away. I will forever be grateful.

Seeing myself on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Sweden feels surreal. This article reflects my journey—from being a content creator traveling the world, chasing the sun, and exploring life, to experiencing a transformative moment that changed everything. I promised the Universe to stop people-pleasing, trust my intuition, and live authentically. I returned to my body filled with gratitude for simply being alive, and from that point, my path as a model emerged after motherhood, leading me to this exciting pre-launch that encompasses more than just a course; it includes coaching, fashion, social media, and so much more!

I’m incredibly proud and excited to share this journey with you. Cautionary tale
If you use Ai to create a photo, flyer, song etc you’re showing disrespect to your fellow artists.
It’s a really bad look in our industry to post ANYTHING using Ai. Please don’t destroy your career… the industry is looking at you and using AI will prevent many from working with you.

ai is slop. It’s not creative.

It is unnecessary and horrific for the environment.
AI is powered by a very big and powerful computer/ data center. These computers, like any other, require a cooling system because the electricity that they use, produces heat. Your home laptops/computers have fans, but the computers made to generate AI require cooling via FRESHWATER!!!!! It’s also important to know that freshwater on planet Earth is NOT an infinite resource. A lot of us know, the majority of the Earth’s surface is water (71%). However, a very small percentage (2.5%) of that water is freshwater.
One data center that powers AI can use more than 100 million gallons of water in one year.

If you continue to ignorantly use AI, we will become witness to a future without freshwater much faster than you may think.

I want to touch grass. Have access to clean water. Keep America’s wildlife safe with nature reserves and farmland kept as farmland vs hundred up on hundreds of acreage being used to cool these monstrosities.

The cheap dopamine is not worth it.

Use real artists or skip it all together.

We lived a long time without artificial intelligence. I know it’s convenient. But every time you engage with AI, it learns. It’s why we’re seeing it replace jobs. Why it makes finding a job harder.
