I finished the London Marathon!!

It’s an experience I’ll never forget
The crowds were absolutely insane and unlike anything I’ve every experienced
They carried me through the lows and made the highs feel like I was flying
Today came with its challenges (thanks period for showing up at mile 15 ☹️) and managing my chronic illness as best I could but it wasn’t playing nice with the heat
Every time I wanted to give up I couldn’t help but be inspired by everyone around me

The young, old , every shape and size, disabled, someone carrying a fucking fridge on his back to raise awareness for dementia, so many people raising money for charities in honour of those they love … I just had to look up to be inspired to keep going.
This is an experience that’s changed me and that I’ll never forget.

I had two words for 2025 instead of a resolution

Curiosity to see if I can
Courage to keep going when I think I can’t

I’ll have a lot to say about this experience in the next days but right now I’m proud of my grit and positive attitude
I’m a marathoner 💫💙

I didn’t expect this trail race to teach me so much

I went into it less focused on the outcome and more on the experience and somewhere between the mud, tree roots, rocks and fall colours I thought of something that I think we all need to hear sometimes

Your worth doesn’t always have to come from what you accomplish

In a world that constantly tells us to hustle, push harder, and achieve more it’s easy to forget that

Sometimes it’s about being present
Taking the scenic route
Learning to trust your feet
Embracing the uncomfortable
And celebrating the fact that you showed up

To me that’s the biggest win.

The worst thing happened.

I came in last.

And guess what?
I didn’t die. 😂

After the year I’ve had, I was so unprepared for this race. So I dropped every expectation and decided to just experience it.

It was hard. I wasn’t confident on the trails. I slipped, stumbled, rolled my ankle, and shuffled my way through while runners floated past me like trail-running gazelles.

I looked like Bambi on ice. 😂

But honestly? I was in awe.

The fall colors.
The trails.
The runners.
And the fact that I was out there doing something I didn’t feel ready for.

I came in last.

And somehow, I had an absolute blast.

Proof that you don’t have to be ready to show up.

A year ago I would have been extremely disappointed, frustrated and angry with a 5k time this slow

This year has humbled me in ways I never expected. My health and fitness have taken a huge hit and if I’m honest my confidence in myself and my abilities is at an all time low
So yes, this was my worst 5k result to date
But I crossed the finish line knowing exactly how HARD it was to get there and that has made it one of my most meaningful races yet
This race reminded me that success doesn’t always mean a faster time or pace or PR
Sometimes it looks like doing something that is incredibly hard and being proud of yourself for doing it anyway

Celebrate the races that challenge you not just the ones that impress you 🖤

Not where I was. Not where I want to be. But I’m running again.

And honestly, it’s hard.

My body doesn’t feel like the body that ran marathons.
The pace is slower. The distances are shorter. Some runs feel more like survival than running.

There’s a part of me that gets frustrated knowing what I used to be capable of.

But after everything my body has been through, I’m learning to stop comparing today to who I was before.

Right now, I’m rebuilding.

One slow run.
One walk break.
One kilometre at a time.

And even when it’s hard I keep reminding myself that what I get back mentally is worth what it takes physically.
A clear head.
A better mood.
The feeling of doing something for myself again.

Im not running to prove what I can do but because of how it makes me feel. And that’s a damn good reason to keep going 💙

I’d love to say I’ve been off living my best life this summer.

But the truth is, it’s felt more like I’ve barely survived it.

Endless appointments. Trips to urgent care. Being poked and prodded. Waiting for answers that never seemed to come. And the constant feeling that there was no real end in sight.

Maybe someday I’ll look back on these months and think, “Wow. I survived that. And I grew so much.”

But right now? It just sucked.

Sometimes you don’t need to have a plan. You don’t need to be productive. You don’t need to push through.

Sometimes surviving the day is enough.

Sometimes it’s surviving the moment.

And sometimes it’s just getting through the next minute.

I’ve felt like a failure because I couldn’t show up in the ways I had planned, expected, or had in the past. I couldn’t keep pushing through. I couldn’t keep pretending everything was fine.

And for a long time, I felt like I should be able to.

But maybe there’s nothing wrong with stepping back when life asks you to.

Maybe strength doesn’t always look like pushing harder.

Maybe sometimes it looks like stopping, taking a breath, and simply giving yourself permission to survive.

So that’s where I am.

I still don’t have all the answers. at times maybe it would have been easier to just accept the pain, that it’s just what happens when you get older, or stop looking for answers. I’m lucky I found a dr who listened and will perform a surgery that I’m hopeful will address at least one of the root causes behind the pain and symptoms I’ve been experiencing

Still hoping for answers. No plans, no goals and taking it one day at a time.

Is it just me or is there something oddly calming about the sound of fighting for your life on the treadmill? 😂

As much as I love running with headphones, there’s something valuable about occasionally leaving them behind (or forgetting them on the counter 😂)
No music. No podcast. No distractions.

Just your footsteps, your breathing, and the work in front of you.

It’s a chance to practice being present, embrace a little discomfort, and build the kind of mental toughness that carries over long after the run is over. It’s getting out of your comfort zone in small ways that help you start to learn “I can do this even when conditions aren’t perfect”
Every time we follow through despite the discomfort we reinforce the mindset that we can do hard things.

Chasing waterfalls, cool places to run, parks and laughs with coworkers in Brazil 🇧🇷

This trip was a bit of a do-over. In 2017, my Last time to Primavera do Leste, I spent most of the time sick and in the hotel room. It was not long after that trip I realized I needed to make some big changes in my life so you may say, I saw the path to my new life and it started here in Brazil

Thanks to my coworkers who provided lots of laughs and good discussions, made sure I tried all the local specialities and got me around Brazil.
Until next time!

5 continents down
2 to go

It’s my favourite way to explore a new country or city and I’m so grateful I have been able to do it on 5 continents

And in case you were wondering, yes there is a marathon on Antarctica… 👀

New to lifting? Keep it simple.

Start with the movements that give you the most return. Focus on learning proper form, controlling the weight, and building consistency before worrying about advanced workouts.

You do not need:
	•	2-hour workouts
	•	20 different exercises
	•	Maximum intensity every session

You need a plan you can recover from, repeat consistently, and progressively improve over time.

Results come from stacking small wins:
better technique, more control, extra reps, slightly more weight, and better recovery.

Strong foundations build strong physiques.
