Peace isn't hiding what you do. It's protecting who you are.

We grow up in social systems that think they know us. That decide who we are before we've said a word. And most of the time, the smartest move isn't to argue. It's to stay quiet, read the room, and play the game without losing yourself in it.

Here's what I've learned:

- "To live happily, live hidden" isn't just about staying out of sight, it's about protecting what's sensitive, what's inside.

- Peace isn't about hiding how you live. It's about protecting your being, your soul.

- Drop the ego. You don't need to be right, you need to know what actually matters to you.

- The people playing the system's game aren't your enemies. They've fought their own battles to get where they are, and they're protecting their peace too. It's not against you, it's survival, for the whole to hold together.

- There's always a hierarchy. Always. Confront the game being played with what YOU know to be true about your life and let that guide you, not your ego.

You don't have to fight to exist everywhere, in every room. Staying quiet doesn't make you less powerful. In real life, it often makes your impact and influence even stronger.

To be first means being misunderstood, mocked, underestimated. But there's the game and there's reality. Master the rules and you'll see there are levels to this. Short-term: image, comparison, perception. Long-term: the blueprint to shift an entire generation's scale.

It's my grounding and the power of my vision that silences the noise so I can hear only the sound. Just the sound.

To my parents for passing on rigor, discipline, strength, and alignment with the flow. Thank you.

Building legacy means flying at eagle level. It means walking alone and loving it. Because solitude protects your frequency. Stay enlightened. Stay at peace. The mission is bigger than you.

The hardest part was never the work itself.

It was the wait.

Waiting for the answer.
Waiting for the opportunity.
Waiting for someone to say yes.
Waiting for proof that the path made sense.

For a long time, I thought courage would arrive when certainty did.

It never did.

Instead, I learned that fear does not disappear before the leap. It disappears because of the leap.

Each new chapter of my life has asked the same question: Will you stay where it is comfortable, or will you honor the vision that keeps calling you forward?

Leaving behind what no longer fits.
Starting over.
Building businesses from an idea.
Knocking on doors that seemed out of reach.
Writing stories I was afraid to share.
Believing in possibilities that others could not yet see.

Again and again, I discovered that we were never meant to shrink ourselves to fit the expectations of others. We are meant to expand into who we are becoming.

Especially when no one is watching.
Especially when there is no applause.
Especially when the outcome is uncertain.

Because in the end, we are each given one life.

And the greatest regret is rarely failure.
It is the road we were too afraid to take.

The conversation we never started.
The company we never built.
The book we never wrote.
The dream we convinced ourselves to abandon.

Today, I understand courage differently.

Courage is not fearlessness.
Courage is heart.

It is choosing, every day, to keep building what you love despite the uncertainty.
To keep showing up despite the doubt.
To trust that each step forward matters, even when the destination is still hidden.

As long as I am building from a place of purpose, generosity, and love, I know I cannot truly fail.

Because success is not only found in arriving.

It is found in becoming the best version of yourself you can be. by @laura_brown_world

A LOVE LETTER TO MY CRITICS

This message is for you, man or woman, who loves to talk about me when I'm not around. You have time, and you love spending it criticising or judging my life to your heart's content.

I hear you, I see you, and I say it to you here and now: take your courage and call me. It will be my pleasure to show you the reality of my path. Not the one you assume and imagine in your head, my true voice ;)
I know, I know, life isn't easy and you need to reassure yourself about your own choices. And you have every right to : you are human.

The thing is, while you spend that precious time we only have once. Time that disappears the very moment you speak, because it too lives only once, I am living my life. Take that jealousy that tickles you as a message. It wants to tell you that you too have the right to live your life as you wish, because life is your… fundamental right.

Courage comes with sacrifices, but just because you don't understand my choices doesn't mean they aren't legitimate. You were raised, shaped, formatted and this little tickle is showing you other paths. It makes you see things you don't know, things that today may seem absurd because they are different from you. This tickle is also a form of awakening that, whatever your age, is happening inside you. Then you can choose to listen to it, hear it… or not.

My courage to be myself and to put myself first frightens and intrigues you, I see it. In person, you often pretend, but behind my back I am your favourite subject. Ask yourself: WHY?

You know, life is a matter of personal choices, and if you don't understand mine, don't worry that's normal. They are not for you. They are for me. Neither good nor bad in themselves, they are simply the paths I believe suit me and bring me joy.

I didn't say "happiness" — that desired island longed for by all but known by no one is an illusion. I said "joy": when your heart sings and your soul vibrates like messages telling you that despite the hardships, you are following the right path. You are on the right track.

To you, my dear critic, I say it once more: I have compassion for you. Take your "courage", listen to your heart and call me. by @laura_brown_world

As April is almost coming to an end, I feel a deep sense of gratitude 🙏🏾

It went by incredibly fast, yet it was filled with lessons, messages to listen to, and moments of clarity, especially about the woman I am becoming.

This month reminded me that happiness lives in the simple things: love, family, peace, sunshine, joy, and genuine moments.

It also challenged me deeply, especially with the loss of my second mother: my aunt. An extraordinary entrepreneur, woman, and mother, with an incredible vision, whose presence I still feel protecting me.

We travelled with my cousin, her son, due to this sad news but it reminded us as brother and sister why we are sooo connected ✨️🫶🏾

It was also a month of new beginnings and discoveries, with the launch of my very first collaboration: the @_brown_perry_ x @kanthe.officiel Mother’s Day box, as well as meeting extraordinary women and partners through my mission with ELLE Afrique.

My heart is at peace, and after reaching every summit, a new mountain always appears to be climbed. That is what we call life.

My awareness is becoming clearer. My place on this planet feels more grounded. Serving through my talents. Understanding a little more each day why I am here.

Not only for myself, but for an entire ecosystem. With trust. With love. And with the perspective needed to understand my impact and the footprint I leave in this world.

I love every part of who I am, and I do not apologize for it.

Avec @_brown_perry_ @elle_afriquefrancophone , ainsi qu’à titre individuel, j’ai toujours pensé collectif. La richesse et l’abondance ne se limitent pas à l’argent. Elles concernent aussi la santé et l’héritage que nous laissons. C’est un investissement et une intention que nous devons bâtir sur le long terme.

Le 10 mars dernier, j’ai participé à The Builders’ Table, un dîner intime de célébration de la Journée des droits des femmes, organisé par @sheeknetwork .

Une rencontre qui a réuni un cercle soigneusement sélectionné de 26 femmes : actrices, fondatrices, dirigeantes, militantes, leaders. Des femmes qui construisent.

C’était un moment profond d’élégance et d’échanges riches de sens, organisé autour d’une table étoilée Michelin : La Maison Michodière.

Je suis honorée et remercie le Sheek Network de m’avoir invitée.

March 10 was an incredible evening organized by @sophyaiida .

It was The Builders’ Table, an intimate International Women’s Day dinner celebration hosted by @sheeknetwork in Paris.

This gathering brought together a carefully curated circle of 26 women across industries: founders, executives, activists, creatives, strategists and cultural leaders, women who build. Not only companies or careers, but also influence, access, narratives and change.

The Builders’ Table was designed as a space for depth, elegance and meaningful exchange. Hosted around a Michelin-starred table at Maison Michodière, the evening invited each guest to reflect on what she is building, what she has had to unlearn, and the seat she is creating for herself and for others.

I was a bit nervous at the beginning when I had to stand up and speak in front of my sisters, because all of this is still very new to me.

For most of my life, I was “the only Black girl”, “the only Liberian girl”, “the only Black girl from a small town”, “the only Black woman among senior executives”. Loneliness became my temple.

That night, the little girl in me whispered: I am so proud of how far you have come. And guess what: it is only the beginning and you are not alone anymore.

With time, I have come to realize that it is part of the Lord’s preparation for something far bigger than me. And as I turned 40 last month, I feel I can see even more clearly, thanks to the clarity I am gaining and the elevation process I am going through.

On my way back home, a young Black girl called me to ask for career advice. As I was encouraging her, I realized that we need to build stronger ecosystems of builders and fortify our tables: not only to pour into each other spiritually, but also to invest in one another at a higher level.

Part of the goal is that the next generation will not have to complain about a lack of visibility or limited job opportunities, because the work will already have been done.

First stop for this International Women's Rights month marathon was @ncinterior_design dinner on the 7 of march at Nichée in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, a black-owned cocoon where @cheffe_fatou took care of the diner experience.

Nene Cisse is an Interior Designer part of the Afro-Chic movement .

It is a cultural and aesthetic trend that celebrates African heritage, identity, and creativity through contemporary fashion, design, art, and lifestyle. It blends traditional African influences with modern global style, creating a sophisticated, modern expression of African culture.

The Afro-Chic movement emerged mainly in the late 1990s and 2000s, alongside a broader wave of cultural affirmation often called the African cultural renaissance.

It was influenced by earlier movements such as Pan-Africanism and the Black Arts Movement, but with a stronger focus on style, lifestyle, and visual culture.

Of course it was an obvious choice to join forces and for us to be part of her first Diner Privilege was an honor.

We spoke to her community and our partners about investing in each other, standards, economical support in our communities when being part of a capitalistic world and as we are now in a place where value meets power and influence.

There are people who can never be replaced.
Glances that belong to no one else.
Stories written only once.

To love is not to follow the crowd.
It is to notice what is rare.

It was with this feeling in mind that we imagined our new wine glasses.
Glasses created for moments that linger.
For toasts that change everything.

On the morning of January 1st, a clear realization crossed my mind: the new year had begun long before that date as if it had already been unfolding for months.

Lying in bed, surrounded by those I love, I felt a deep sense of gratitude. And with it, a clear impulse: to share, to pass on, to serve. To show up fully. To act in service of something greater than myself.

Everything I desired for 2025, I manifested. And one question naturally followed: how?

I came to understand that when we act guided by a clear intention and a deeper sense of purpose, life stops being a series of breaks and disruptions. It becomes a continuum. We move forward with peace, because we know why we are here.

My purpose is simple: to bring value to my community.
My family. My friends. And everyone who has crossed my path.

My intention is to build a legacy, by continuing that of my grandmother : a nurse, a healer, a woman of faith. A woman who passed on far more than words: a vision, a sense of responsibility, and a deep commitment to service.

To those who struggle to manifest consistently, here is what I have learned: visualize, set a clear intention, give yourself direction, and plan.
And above all, remember this: the true code is to act guided by your WHY.

Your reason for being is your compass. From there, everything can take shape naturally.

I wish you a year filled with love, health, peace, and harmony.
In the end, that is what truly matters.

l y a des moments dans une vie où l’on réalise que, seules, on va vite… mais ensemble, on va tellement plus loin.

Nous sommes des femmes aux histoires différentes. Des forces qui se soutiennent, s’élèvent et se célèbrent.

On parle de business, de nos ambitions, de nos projets mais aussi nos doutes…
Entre rires, confidences et vérités, on se rappelle pourquoi on fait tout ça.
On se rappelle que ce que l’on construit ensemble a plus de valeur que tout le reste.
