Laura Masotto brings The Spirit of Things to Oratorio San Marco del Borgo di Veglio for the Sound Explorations program at Nextones.

Working across violin, analog processing, synthesizers, and loop station, Masotto constructs immersive sound environments where composition and improvisation continuously dissolve into one another. Drawing from shamanic practices, the performance incorporates ritual instruments including Tibetan singing bowls, ocean drum, rattles, stones, and percussive elements, expanding the act of listening into a meditative and physical experience.

Il singolo “Houses in Winter” è il primo estratto dalla colonna sonora originale del film TABOO. EGON SCHIELE, firmata dalla violinista @laura_masotto.

Immaginiamo Egon Schiele alla finestra della casa di famiglia, mentre dipinge un paesaggio innevato immerso in un silenzio sospeso: è a questa immagine, intima e fragile, che si ispira il brano della compositrice.

“Houses of Winter” sarà disponibile da domani in digitale su etichetta Nexo Studios Soundtracks, distribuzione @universalmusicitalia.
Entriamo così nell’emozionante e potente universo del pittore in TABÙ. EGON SCHIELE, al cinema il 20, 21 e 22 aprile.

What an honour! My piece “Atoms” is the soundtrack of the @dior Autumn-Winter 2025 campaign 🤍

The collection takes its cues from ‘Orlando’, the Virginia Woolf novel whose eponymous central character’s story arc spans genders and centuries

A century after Erik Satie’s passing, I pay tribute with a reimagining of his iconic Gymnopédie No.1.
This new electroacoustic rework blends the intimate voice of my processed violin with ambient synth textures, dissolving and reshaping Satie’s timeless theme into something new.
Originally composed as a tribute to the classical world, Erik Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 1 evokes the ancient Spartan rituals, solemn dances, unarmed bodies, and sacred harmonies. I tried to embrace that symbolic and musical legacy, reimagining it through the lens of the present.
I took the opening bars of Satie’s theme, shifted the accents, deconstructed the rhythm, and from there, a new melody emerged. It felt like letting the original piece breathe in another time, with a different sonic body.
The project is visually completed by an artwork created by @nicholas_bertini, inspired by the figure of Apollo, symbol of light, beauty, the arts, and metamorphosis.
