I walked through Prospect Park to return my library books yesterday. While the first leg and part of the second were rainy and messy, of course I didn’t get covered in mud until the brilliantly sunny portion of the return trip home. It’s funny that I was more wary of stone steps than earthen ones, because it turns out, mud is slippery either way. But it was absolutely worth it to experience a park virtually devoid of humans but full of the fragrances that come out on a rainy day.😅 by @lauraacasey

The cloud formation was far more majestic than photography can ever depict, but I had to move past the displeasing traffic signals. The buildings still obscured more of Cloud Mountain than I’d hoped, denying all of us maximum joy. Oh, the injustice. by @lauraacasey

Living here got easier once I developed the ability to see the brilliant sunlight that’s here, instead of dwelling on the more expansive light I felt like I’d lost. Also the end of 4 years of construction noise probably helped.✨ by @lauraacasey

I wish this photo better conveyed the shape of this tree’s canopy — the way it hangs out and over is so elegant, like the skirt of a ballgown. It’s definitely one of the best trees in the whole park. Top 5, for sure. by @lauraacasey
