25th Anniversary of 9/11. It's my duty and the duty of all others who experienced that day to make sure the day and meaning of it are never forgotten and don't just fade into history and become treated as part of the mundane. September 2001 was my first month as a 1L at Rutgers Law School. I met my future husband a few days before 9/11 and we had planned our first official date for the day after 9/11, unbeknownst to us at the time. So it was a month of milestones for me already. Plus my dad was a Port Authority Police Officer stationed at the Bus Terminal in NYC who, by the grace of God, had taken off work that day to go fishing, when much of his team unfortunately weren't so lucky that day and responded to the towers. He ended up burying many of his friends. My das participated in the rescue and recovery effort at Ground Zero later that day and for months after and that lived experience was life-changing for all involved. I will never forget and will make sure I help continue to tell the stories. by @laurac703

My daughter Julia wanted to try snowboarding for the first time and I wanted to be available on the slopes to help her as she learns. So I strapped on a pair of skiis for the first time in at least 25 years (much to the fear of @adolfo.stone_plus_design_llc who thought I would break a bone) and proved that, at 46 years old, we are only as limited as our beliefs.

I'm no Olympic skiier, but in 10 minutes I was skiing at the level I left off 25+ years ago. My head and body remembered what to do and I recaptured my love of skiing again. 💙 taken in Shawnee Mountain Ski Area by @laurac703
