1st edition of @finalfrontierpatagonia. An adventure bigger than words can describe... I’m still trying to fully process it, but without doubt: the toughest ride I’ve taken on so far #Patagonia. My first unsupported trip in South America, and my first real test of ultra-distance riding on long stretches of gravel. I wanted to understand how I handle remoteness, and I learned more than expected. That’s what keeps me coming back to these events: the edge, the curiosity, the quiet process of #selfdiscovery. Chile’s deep greens, mountains, and glaciers 🇨🇱🏞️✨ shifting into the vast Argentinian pampa 🇦🇷🫣 endless roads, guanacos, and winds… always there. #Los73Malditos aka "The 73 Damned" gave me one of the hardest moments I’ve ever had on a bike. Strong side winds pushing us off road, making it difficult just to stay upright. But when stopping isn’t an option, you keep moving forward. It’s surprising what becomes possible in those moments 🤯 What stayed with me most, as always, is the people. Locals, riders, the crew, all the brief encounters that somehow will stay with you forever ♾️. That’s what makes these experiences meaningful, and why I keep coming back! Grateful for the moments shared along the way. The last long ride of summer ☀️🌊🐎🇭🇷with @istraland.cc #istraland I’m usually not even that comfortable around horses… but this moment stopped me. You’re completely alone in nature #ucka No sound, no people. And suddenly, they start running alongside you. The first edition of #AlbPacka is done and dusted 🚴‍♀️✨ Smiles, blankets, brezels, wonderful #gravelvalleys and campfires 🔥 ... 3 loops 490 km 7,500 m up 1 day 13 hours & the friendliest crew + volunteers I’ve ever met @alb.packa 🙌 ... I have to admit that the cute #alpaca 🦙 logo got my instant attention when I bumped into the news of these new #gravel event in the #SchwäbischeAlb. I then read 100% of proceeds go to promote cycling for #youngriders 🚴‍♂️❤️ with its #nonprofit status I had no excuses not to sign-up 😁 ... Loop 1 🏞️ started in the rain ☔ but once that cleared out I could enjoy the fabulous #Danube Valley in the sun ☀️ and then on incredibly smooth #champagnegravel and forest paths 🫶🏻 The first 12 hours saw about 235 km, 3,000+ m climbing ... Loop 2 🌄 started in the dark after a short break at #HardysHut. I didn't want to stop too long because I was cold 🥶 Despite my best intentions I found the first descent freezing and at about 10:30 pm I checked in at an hotel #Blaubeuren. #sleepdeprivation is never an option for me!! ... After a warm shower 🚿 and a 4-hour sleep I was back on the bike before 4 am. No longer than a couple of hours later I was downing 2 cappuccinos + 1 espresso, to the amusement of the barista who just stared at my #caffeineoverdose 😂☕☕☕ ... Loop 3 🌠 started mid morning in sunshine & sweat. Haha. This last loop saw plenty of #hikeabike moments for me. Riding through Steinheim #Meteorkrater Park was unreal. ... #stayhuman highlights 🚸 The kids cheering and high5-ing me whilst I rolled back to the hut at the end of loop 1 ✏️ Spotting "Bella Laura” written on the list of participants on the roads near @hardys.tv hut 🥹❤️ 🛖 The many warm welcomes at the hut ... For me, I always sign up to these events to #explore and to some extent to find a #personalchallenge, but honestly the most beautiful thing I keep taking away are the encounters with old and new friends 🫶🏻 ... 🥈The second edition is in May 2026. Chase the sun ☀️ 1,000 km. I’ve confirmed a few things about myself on this trip. I prefer slow riding. Taking breaks. Actually seeing places, not just passing through. What stays with me most isn’t the distance, it’s the people I met, on and off the bike 🍦 and yes… I definitely remember where I had good gelato 😄 Funny enough, the hard moments fade quite quickly.
