Dream!

Wexford Lavendar Farm Heritage Cafe Sat 7th Nov, 19.00 - 21.00

Roisin El Cherif

Come and listen to Róisín’s dreamy sounds and during the evening create some mantras and wishes. Róisín is an Irish Palestinian singer, writer and music film director. Roisin’s ethereal sound draws on the other realms, legend and magic. Rewritten as mixture of Irish, English and Arabic, Roisin honours the connection between her dual cultures. Roisin has toured Ireland extensively reclaiming her multigenerational heritage, and intrigue in mysticism and magic. Roisin appeared on Nialler9’s podcast speaking about embracing her Arabic roots, connecting it to Irish traditional music; drawing parallels with Irish mythology, folklore and keening.

Deirdre Southey - Berba's Reverie

Witness a beautiful film of a luminous meditation dedicated to Berba, goddess of the River Barrow. This work emerges from Deirdre’s eco-spiritual practice, where sound recordings gathered along the river in the height of summer are transformed through water, local honey, and gold into light-infused movement.

Colm Kiely - Wood Turner, Dancing Moons

Colm will share his knowledge on the night about wood turning and how it has been such a rewarding craft for him over the years. Working just beside Wexford Lavendar Farm, Colm will bring along some of his pieces for everyone to see, come and chat to him about them and his drum making workshops afterwards.

🌻🌈 Children of all ages are invited to drop in to the wonderful artist Lynn Haughton of @the_upcycle_movement in the beautiful walled garden of Johnstown Castle and Gardens on Saturday 30th May between 11am and 1pm. In this calming workshop, little ones learn how to take their time and paint on small spaces. Budding artists can make a bee, a ladybird or a flower for outdoor spaces at home or create something very detailed from their imaginations and pick up some tips on creating small, special pictures with nature.

Come and see The Potting Shed - one of the rennovated bothies and work away there like the craft makers throughout history..

Thank you to @filarkin for creating some new looks for us to work with ✨️

On Sunday 29th March at 6.30pm  The Stone Sessions are bringing Farah Elle to Enniscorthy Castle with the support of Creative Places Enniscorthy. Farah has melded her combined Lybian and Irish heritage to create a sound that is thoroughly contemporary and completely her own. Join us to listen to her mesmerizing voice and sounds on the piano as she takes us on a beautiful musical journey, telling stories about what inspired her to create music. We will also hear from a local craftworker on the night about why they began to make and will be given opportunities to imagine and explore our own creative sparks. A night of heritage, creativity and inspiration for all.
