📈 Grow your health or wellness business to 7-figures & up
🌴 Apply Now: 2027 CEO Reset Retreat in Costa Rica ⬇️⬇️⬇️

POSTS STORIES REELS

Applications are now open for the Well Women Business CEO Reset Retreat!

7 spots. Costa Rica. January 15-19, 2027.

Here's how business planning goes for most women CEOs I know:

December gets chaotic, so planning gets pushed to January.

You block a Saturday in January to "do your business plan," write a few bullet points, and call it done.

By February you're running the business exactly like you did last year (just more tired) and putting out fires as they pop up.

You're stuck in a series of reacting rather than strategically planning for growth.

I built this retreat because strategic planning (& being in the room with other successful female CEOs!) will absolutely 100% change your business...it's just that too many women business owners are too busy to carve out time to plan well.

So we're spending 5 days in Uvita, Costa Rica: with daily movement classes, gourmet meals provided by a private chef, & your own private room and bathroom.

We'll do real business planning work in the mornings, and real rest in the afternoons.

Eight women total (including me, your host & ever-honest business coach). Every one vetted through an application, all building natural health or wellness businesses toward seven figures.

Only 1.9% of women CEOs ever hit seven figures. I want you to be one of them, and I promise you WILL NOT get there alone.

I review every application myself. I'm not trying to fill seats fast. I'm looking for the right seven women to join to bring value to the whole group.

Link is in my bio to apply. If you have questions, drop them below in the comments! (It is really me typing this- not an AI bot.)

xoxo

🙋‍♀️True confession: I’m lonely as a business owner.

I have close friends in my personal life and don't feel lonely in general, but in my professional life as a business owner, I wish I had more friends who were entrepreneurs leading bigger teams & who could relate to the specific challenges I’m having as a leader of a 7-figure company now.

I just feel so lonely in business sometimes…and I bet you do too if you’re at this level of business.

I want to help end the loneliness epidemic among women CEOs running multi-6 and 7-figure health or wellness businesses.

So if you can relate, let’s be business friends.

And… tell me what you do to combat loneliness in your work as CEO of your company. I'd love to hear.

I'm thinking of hosting some free online meetups soon in an effort to just connect with y’all and solve problems together, but I’m moving this next week so maybe in a few weeks.😁

Whew. I feel better now that I’ve admitted this publicly. Thank you ladies.

My therapy practice crossed $1,000,000 in revenue this year.
I just scribbled this list in my notebook off the top of my head to share with you all. No particular order. All learned the hard way.

1. At this level, documenting your systems is NOT optional. You need a database of systems and a good project management software.

2. As CEO, your job is to pour into your leadership team and care a LOT about your entire team’s professional growth and job satisfaction.

3. As CEO, you MUST invest heavily (time and $$$$) in your own personal health and your professional growth as a leader. Spend time with other female CEOs who get it!

4. Delegation is the #1 skill that a 7-figure female CEO needs. Be vicious about only doing what requires your CEO brain or sits in your zone of genius.

5. Related to #4: STOP apologizing for asking people on your team to do tasks. Just ask and say thank you!

6. At this level, you must manage based on established policies, not by individual relationships. It’s the only way to be fair to everyone on the team.

7. PAY YOURSELF a good salary. Then have your CFO hold you to it. You will enjoy your work more if you are paid! 🙂

8. Only hire people into leadership positions who have the best interests of the business in mind AND who you truly enjoy working with.

9. Your feelings are not reality. Lack of self-control will erode your team’s confidence and respect in you, so learn to manage your emotions. (Ep. 27 of the Well Women Business podcast shares how)

10. You won’t suddenly feel like you have it all together when you hit 7+ figures. Being CEO ALWAYS means operating at your growth edge.

I talk through all of this (with more raw honesty than you’ve ever heard from any business coach) on The Well Women Business Podcast...find it wherever you listen to podcasts. 🎧
xoxo

P.S. would love to hear your thoughts on these, too!

Female CEOs: I cannot recommend this author enough. I am sooo excited to read his new book after reading his free email newsletter for a while now.

It's called "Inner Propaganda: Leading Hearts and Minds Through Turbulent Times" by Owen Fitzpatrick

Here’s the opening snippet from inside the front book jacket:

“Right now your brain is telling you a story about who you are, what's true, and what you should believe, and you're buying it even when it sabotages your success.”

I think women business owners are particularly prone to sabotaging their own success. I know I struggle with this…so I can’t wait to learn what Owen shares in this book.

DM me if you want to do a book club on this book. I’d be happy to host on Zoom at a time that works for anyone interested!

I love having conversations with smart successful female business owners. This is one of the smartest moves I've seen a six-figure business owner make this year.

Elizabeth Martin of Holistic Community Therapy in Portland, Oregon, is 91% Medicaid reimbursement and about 85% of that comes from one payer.

After she experienced significant Medicaid cuts in 2026, she's building a cash-pay revenue stream NOW while she still has room to plan.

On episode 26 of Well Women Business, we talk through how to start a new revenue source when your six-figure business leans too much on one revenue stream.

I also confess that I have the same problem, just at the opposite end. Most of our payers in my practice are private pay.

The lesson: no health or wellness business is immune to this.

Find the Well Women Business podcast wherever you listen to podcasts!

Want free coaching? DM me if you’re a 6 or 7-figure woman business owner, and you're brave enough to come on the podcast for a live coaching call!

Does anybody else feel like the marketing tactics you've been taught don't work for certain things in your business? I'd love to hear...

I feel like I’m going against everything I’ve been taught about marketing with this retreat I’m planning.

p.s. sorry for the crappy lighting. I record only when inspired and it’s 9pm in this beige temporary housing I’m in right now with bad lighting. 😆

😆Kidding/not kidding! Honestly I love my life. My life does not revolve around my businesses.

I've built businesses where I can work in my zone of genius. I have flexibility to do what I want, when I want.

That's the benefit I get for taking on 100% of the risk of starting these businesses in the first place.

But the cool thing is, everyone working in my businesses also get to do what is in their zone of genius...

And most of the time, work seems to magically get done without me!

I just really believe there is more to building a successful business than hustling and grinding and working ourselves to the bone as CEOs.

it's why I don't like a lot of the business gurus out there.

I'm driven and motivated and I work hard, but I also am not willing to sacrifice my life for my business to be even more profitable. I value my flexibility and my lifestyle just as much as I value financial compensation from my business.

(And yes I do pay myself a California professional living wage for running my companies...I hope you are paying yourself a professional wage for running your business too!)

Because if you’re not paying yourself enough to take a random Tuesday afternoon off, that’s not a compliment to your work ethic. That’s a business problem.

If this resonates with you, come join me at the CEO Reset Retreat in Costa Rica to do our strategic planning together in January.

So you can have a clear plan to get more flexibility and pay yourself more as the CEO of your business.

There are 4 out of 7 spots left and early bird pricing ends on Monday Sept 28!

Comment ME and I'll shoot you a DM to start a conversation about whether it's right for you. 😘

I’m about to lose some followers over this post.

...because I know this isn’t going to be for everyone reading it.

And that’s OK.

I’m looking for 5 successful women who are running 6-figure health or wellness businesses & are ready to scale to 7-figures in revenue.

Women who love nature, real food, movement, and can’t stand hustle culture as much as I can’t.

Women who refuse to sacrifice their whole life for their business, but still geek out over talking about marketing, systems, and team management.

Is that you?

If so, I want to invite you to join us at the Well Women Business CEO Reset Retreat in Costa Rica in January 2027.

Here’s what you’ll get done there:

Your 2027 strategic plan for your whole business. Not vision boards, not vague goal-setting... real strategy for how you make more money next year and get to that 7-figure goal.

I promise you can’t do that from inside the chaos of running your business. You need to actually step away to think clearly.

And you’ll meet 7 other women who share your values and actually get what it’s like to hold the responsibility (and privilege) of owning a 6-7 figure health or wellness business.

At the retreat: Mornings are for deep work. Afternoons are yours... beach, hike, nap, whatever your nervous system is begging you for.

5 of 7 spots are left. That’s it.

Comment RESET and I’ll personally DM you to chat about if it is right for you.

xoxo

So…this is happening! José and I tend to move quickly when we decide to relocate. We first started talking about a move to San Diego to live near our daughter (and closer to my business) this spring…we were thinking we’d move in late fall…but 2 weeks ago, we decided to go for it and get there in time for our youngest to start his sophomore year at his new school (rather than showing up mid year).

So we’re driving there next week, staying in temp housing while we house hunt, and Jose and I will be doing a bit of back and forth for a few months to get the Madison house all packed up and ready to sell.

It’s going to be a busy fall season but I’m excited to be in the same city with my daughter again, and to be closer to the main branches of my Bay Area therapy practice just a short plane ride away so I can see my CA staff more often.

💔Also, its hard. Madison has a piece of my heart. There are so many people I will miss. My sweet neighborhood here has been a great place to live for 5+ years.

Not gonna lie though: I will not miss winter!! If you’re a Madison friend of mine reading this, please come visit us! You now have a free place to stay if you want to visit San Diego in winter! 😘

I’ll still be publishing a Well Women Business podcast episode every week and sending my Unfiltered Female CEO newsletter every Wednesday while all this craziness goes on behind the scenes. 🤣 If you’re not on my WWB email list yet, (it’s where I share all the in-the-moment business stuff I don’t share on the podcast) shoot me a DM and I’ll add you!

xoxo

Ever heard of the resilience quotient? I was surprised that I'm NOT as resilient as I thought when I did a test...I'll unpack that more on a Well Women Business podcast episode soon.

This is a quote from a free book I found online that I highly recommend: Alexia Michiels' Resilience Quotient: Leadership with Heart and Purpose.

I'm learning a lot about leadership this year. And it's painful. Relentless. Soooooooo hard.

But also I know I'm gradually becoming more resilient and a better leader.

If you want to hear the details I don't share on social, DM me. I'll send you my unfiltered female CEO letter every Wednesday where I share my honest thoughts from behind the scenes as I run my almost-7-figure business. (It's the stuff I don't share on the podcast!)

Would love to hear your thoughts on this quote in the comments.
