Last Sunday rounded off a week-long celebration of trattorie with the best young chefs of Italy, organized by @hypertrattoria

There was a convivial lunch at @pastificio.sanlorenzo with dishes by the chefs of @santopalatoroma @franceschetta58 and later that night a dinner served up by @sorelle_poma and @osteriabillis, all of it utterly delicious and part of the wave of contemporary trattoria cooking that’s making eating out in Italy exciting again.

The best part of my work is getting to interview great minds like @carsten.holler, who told me, “Being an artist is easy — you just need to think of new ways of doing things.”

As an artist, Carsten is always thinking of new ways of doing things, and for a story out now in @kinfolk, he broke down the odd and occasionally socially uncomfortable acts he invented for his recently published "Book of Games."

Come travel Calabria along the Coast of the Gods with @pontus_berghe and me as we document an occasionally transcendent trip for @nytimes.

There were deity-worthy beaches, dancing giants, tarantella dancing, and foraging for wild blackberries when stuck in a shut-down town with no transportation or food. In other words, it was travel — imperfect, surprising, memorable.
