For three years we have marched for Palestine. It’s sad that we need to still do this but I’m so proud to be part of this beautiful movement, to walk with so many good people of conscience. These marches are a day when I feel less alone and despite what we are told are always filled with peace, love and respect. #freepalesti̇ne 🇵🇸 taken in Embankment, London, England by @laurasmith_vh

We’re off to a good start but there’s still plenty of time to join us. Everything raised today will go towards helping Najat and her family. Come and visit us this afternoon at 51 Hermon Hill on the junction with Nelson Road where we have lots of homewares and vintage original art for sale. taken in Wanstead by @laurasmith_vh

There’s little good news that comes out of Gaza however there’s a small spark that I’m hoping that will grow into something wonderful!
•
Many of you know that I’ve spent the last few years supporting Najat and her family and we have become good friends. I’ve watched this amazing young women fight so hard to help provide for her family during the most horrific times. Not only has she built a community around her who help her family but she has given back by helping to organise and run @smilegazaa a grassroots project which provides fun activities for the children of the camps and also volunteers at a clinic for mothers and babies in her role as nurse. During the time I have known her she has grown close to Raja a young teacher. Raja also helps run @smilegazaa with Najat.
•
Najat and Raja with the help of friends in Italy have the chance of scholarships at Pisa university which is wonderful however they need to raise a lot of money for visas and accommodation etc, the amount is mind blowing. We need to raise another £22,000 in 55days.
•
When I first heard this I felt pretty hopeless, how do we begin to raise this kind of money? But then after pondering on it for an evening I thought what have we got to lose, we owe this to these two young people to do everything possible to make this happen. So here i am asking you to please do what you can by donating if that’s possible or sharing this story as much and as wide as possible, maybe tag people in the comments or repost this post, even saving this story helps the algorithm, so please help me and let’s make this happen.
•
Below is the link to the fundraiser with all the links you need, I willI will also be posting it to my stories soon. The video starts of in Italian but bare with it as a little way in you will hear Najat and Raja tell there stories in their own words.

You can copy and paste this link by taking a screenshot then highlighting the link in the screenshot.

For Sale in aid of @njt.t2 and her family living in Gaza. Najat is a nurse and a friend who qualified as a nurse on October 6th 2023. She’s a beautiful human who uses her talent as a volunteer nurse in a clinic for mothers and babies and has set up @smile.-.Gaza a grassroots organisation to help provide activities and fun for the children of gazas camps.

These beautiful original vintage botanical bookplates are from a 1956 edition of a book called Roses 2 which was illustrated by Pierre-Joseph Redouté. They are also extra large and ideal for framing at 30 x 40 cm.
•
“Napoleon Bonaparte, a frequent visitor to Redouté’s studio, once expressed his disappointment and astonishment that a painter so
gifted should waste his time in painting roses instead of recording the great events of history. Yet Redouté, by the publication of Les Liliacees and Les Roses, was
himself to make history in the world of botanical Art”.
•
Selling all 15 bookplates at a cost of £20 each including free UK postage which I’m happy to cover as a contribution to the fund. Happy to send aboard but postage will need to be covered.
•
If you like to buy one or more please comment on the post and DM which plates you would like to buy. Payment can be made via PayPal or bank transfer and all proceeds will go towards feeding a family in Gaza ❤️

🤍 Because Gaza deserves joy...

On the fifth day of the #SmileGaza campaign, we see the impact of your kindness firsthand in the eyes of the children and the relief from the burdens of life for families. Every donation, every contribution, and every prayer made a real difference today.

✨ Thank you to everyone who extended a helping hand. We continue with you and because of you .

Posting this as a follow-up to the video I made to promote the new l!nk for @wafaa_family_ , due to her previous c@mp@ins being discontinued. Hopefully folk seeing this will have confidence that her new l!nk is solid and reliable. I will continue to cover platform and transaction fees and match your g!fts to her as much as I can. The f^nd is empty right now so if you can spare even 1euro today it would mean the world.

Thanks SO SO SO much to everybody who contributed and shared do far. Hers and my pages are small , so I'm pleading with anybody seeing this to amplify @wafaa_family_ and show her support in any way you can. She is really private and reluctant to advocate for herself, so we desperately need more people creating content for her, please please be that person !! 🙏🏼 ❤ by @laurasmith_vh
