Dance photos don’t always have to happen in the studio! ✨ Thank you for such a fun day, Mary Huff! It’s always a pleasure to spend time with you and create something beautiful together. by @laurawhitephoto1
It’s that time of year! ✨ Nutcracker music is in the air, and audition season and graduation are just around the corner. From a cherished role to your next big opportunity or your senior year in dance, let’s create images that celebrate this moment. 🩰 Now booking Nutcracker, Audition, and Senior Dance Sessions! Had the most fun with sweet Hattie from @valleydancewv today! She came in to create her audition portfolio, and we added a little extra creativity with some beautiful artistic images, too. ✨ Best of luck as you apply for summer intensives, Hattie! 🩰 by @laurawhitephoto1
Dancing is such a great way to keep both your body and mind in tip-top shape! 💃 I do my best to make it to at least one dance class every week, and I know there are plenty of other adults out there who would love to dance—or get back to dancing—if they knew where to go. So, Roanoke-area dance studios and instructors, tell us what you offer! What adult classes do you have? Ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, ballroom…anything goes! Do you welcome drop-ins, or do dancers need to commit to a full session or season? Are your classes beginner-friendly? Share your adult dance opportunities in the comments. You never know who might be looking for exactly what you offer! 🩰✨ Photo of @jacquiedances @roanokeballettheatre @citymodernensemble @starcity_schoolofballet @starcitycenterforthearts @valleydanceproductions Who did I forget? by @laurawhitephoto1
I enjoyed my time with the dancers of @cgdanceco immensely! It was such a pleasure getting to know you and capturing your talent, energy, and love of dance. Wishing everyone the very best as classes begin. Have a happy, healthy, and wonderful season filled with lots of dancing! 💕🩰 #roanokedancephotographer #vadancephotographer #dancephotography #pasdedeuxfeature by @laurawhitephoto1
@hopeinmotionroanokevalley silent auction winner Hannah came to the studio this weekend for her photo session, and we had so much fun! Our goal was to create a portfolio of images that showcases the diversity of her talent, from beautiful lines and movement to personality and expression. Hannah brought so much energy and versatility to the session, and it was a joy collaborating with her to create images that truly feel like her. Congratulations again, Hannah! I loved having you in the studio and creating these images with you. @alistdanceacademy @capezio @blochdanceusa #roanokedancephotographer #grandinvillage #virginiadancephotographer by @laurawhitephoto1

As an actor, does your headshot portfolio truly showcase your personality and range? If not, it may be time for a refresh. It was such a pleasure having Sabrina in the studio to create a collection of images that reflects her versatility and talent. Wishing you the very best, Sabrina—I hope these new headshots help you book lots of exciting roles! After several years of submitting my work for review through the Professional Photographers of America, I am beyond excited to share that I have earned the Master of Photography degree! This achievement represents years of learning, growing, accepting feedback, and continually striving to improve my craft. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted me to capture their families, businesses, performances, and milestones along the way. Your support has made this journey possible. Photography is so much more than creating beautiful images—it's about preserving moments, telling stories, and continually challenging myself to become a better artist and professional. I'm honored to have reached this milestone and look forward to continuing to serve my clients with the same passion and dedication. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me throughout this journey. Here's to the next chapter! by @laurawhitephoto1
A special post for this Tutu Tuesday to congratulate @lee_annie90 for a spectacular 12-year career with @roanokeballettheatre. She capped it off with a breathtaking performance as Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty. Better still, she was able to share the stage with her daughter. My photography isn't just "work" or "a job" to me. It is fostering relationships and capturing beautiful moments to celebrate your journey. Thank you, LeeAnn for including me in your journey. My pride and happiness for you are boundless. Thank you for being such a special person inside and out. by @laurawhitephoto1
