I can't remember the last time I got to celebrate mother's day with my mom or sister. So much fun spending the week with both plus my brother-in-law and nieces (plus my hubby and son) was truly a blessing. by @laurel.nelson19

Got takeout from a new Indian restaurant in the Bernardo Heights area called Spices of Himalaya. Absolutely delicious!

We ordered the Onion Bhaji appetizer, onion fritters fried in chickpea batter. Then we each got the Chicken Kathi Roll which is chunks of chicken marinated in yogurt and spices, sliced onions and peppers, and rolled up like a burrito. The portions are generous and the prices are excellent. The food came with 2 dipping sauces, an herby green sauce which had a little kick, and a red sauce which was not spicy at all and had a little sweetness to it. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious.

We also ordered a dessert, Ras Malai, which is made with fresh cream and milk. We're both stuffed from dinner so haven't tried the dessert but looking forward to it.

They have a huge menu and we're looking forward to trying some of the other dishes in the future. The gentleman who helped us was friendly and attentive. If you're in the area, give them a try. by @laurel.nelson19
