To my sweet boy—

I can’t believe we are celebrating your first birthday today. This last year has been one of the best and happiest years of my life. You have brought so much laughter, love and excitement into our lives. You have shown me a love I never knew existed.

Every day I remind myself to soak in all the love and cuddles because time is fleeting. You won’t always be this little baby and you’ll continue to grow up. How I wish I could make time slow down. As daddy reminds me everyday, we won’t have time to miss that little baby because we’ll be enjoying your next phase and milestone too much. He couldn’t be more right.

When you’re older, I hope you realize we don’t just love you, we truly love spending every moment with you. Happy Birthday, Baby Cole. I love you 💙

It’s bittersweet sweet to say I won’t be returning to Fox 4 after my maternity leave. I can’t thank my friends, family and especially my husband enough for their support as this was a tough decision for me. It’s been an honor to deliver the weather and news to Southwest Florida for almost six years. I will surely miss many parts of my job, but I’m so excited to wholly embrace this next chapter as a mommy. To my Fox 4 family— keep hustling and stay in touch. D.C., you were a wildly patriotic good time. We never stopped looking around, taking it all in, and soaking up the history of our country. More than 20 miles walked in less than two days… and somehow, we wanted to do and see more.

But most importantly, it was an absolute honor to be there to celebrate our sweet Kimmy as she retires from the Navy. Words truly fail to express how impressive you—and your career—have been. It saddens me beyond words to say that our sweet Macy girl passed away on Monday. It’s taken me days to even write this.

After 15 years of a long, happy, and adventurous life, we knew this day would eventually come, but knowing that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier.
Macy was there through so many chapters of my life. She was by my side through college, moves across state lines, and so many memories with family and friends. No matter where life took us or who came into it, Macy was our gypsy girl always by our side.

I could go on forever about how special she was, but for now, I’ll keep so much of that love tucked safely in my heart.

I’m beyond grateful to my parents for helping care for her over the years and for being by her side during her final days. And a huge thank you to my cousin Krystal for stepping in to help when we needed it most. I’ll never forget your kindness.

We’ll miss you more than words can ever say, Macy baby. Thank you for 15 incredible years of unconditional love, loyalty, and spice. You’ll always be part of our family, and you’ll always have a piece of my heart. 🐾🤍 by @laurenpetrelli
