my debut poetry chapbook, FAWNING, is forthcoming June 2027 with @arcanapoetrypress 🦌

POSTS STORIES REELS

It’s official: my debut poetry chapbook, FAWNING, is coming out next summer with @arcanapoetrypress !!! ✨

I would not have believed this three years ago. I am so proud of myself for all the (hard) (weird) decisions I’ve had to make to get to this point. Alchemizing my pain through writing has been the greatest gift.

The week Annalise found out about her Arcana offer we celebrated hard on FaceTime. Then, Indira found out about her Arcana offer and we once again celebrated hard. Unfortunately, the way that I am, I don’t check my emails (I have ADHD & anxiety ok!!!) I actually had an email the same day as Indira in my inbox but didn’t see it until a week later. The chat was pregnant with multiple baby book deals and we didn’t know because I am ~*an idiot*~ but it all worked out 😂

SPECIAL SHOUT OUTS TO:

@beasophialovesgnocci who devoured this manuscript in its first (very rough) form, chewed on it relentlessly, and spit it back up to me with a deep understanding I had not had about my own work. I am so serious that FAWNING wouldn’t be here without you having set your eyes on it.

@jillianstacia: who is a real poets poet. Thank you for your support and friendship. So honored to be press sisters.

@annalisewrites & @lucypoet: your love and support of my poetry AND me is something I’ll hold in me for the rest of my days. You both have changed me profoundly. Annalise, thank you for always being my editor extraordinaire and for always knowing exactly what prompts to give me. Many of these poems wouldn’t exist without you. It is a dream to be on this journey with you. Lucy, thank you for being the biggest hype girl. The way you show up and care for your people is magic. I love you both to the end of time.

@littledeathpoetry: After reading PUPPY GIRL! I was like welp it’s over for you, Laur, and thats ok because Indira has this in the bag, her poetry is fucking incredible!!! To be able to be published alongside you is truly the best gift ever. FAWNING & PUPPY GIRL! are sisters and always belonged together. Just like us! 🐶🦌

& ofc, to Arcana: for believing in this work and being my dream publisher. Cannot wait for what we do together! by @laurenrichwrites

Welcoming the rest of our 2027 Arcana Poets. 🥹

You didn't really think we were going to go the whole summer without publishing any books, did you?

You all loved our 2025 Winter Chapbook Series so much, so we're bringing it back with a new 2027 Summer Chapbook Series. ☀️

We are so grateful for these four remarkable poets, and we cannot wait for you to get your hands on their collections.

Swipe to see the crew. Author bios are captioned under each poet's slide.

Thank you for being the most amazing community a little indie press could ask for. Your love and support make a difference. None of this happens without you. 💛

Lauren Rich is a poet and social worker from the Chicagoland area. When she isn't writing, she can be found traveling, exploring the local forests, or having a pint at the pub. by @laurenrichwrites

Maybe I’ll have a more poetic way to say this one day (probably not) but for now: I f***ing love these people. These poets always hold me and each other so tenderly. I am so grateful.

You never read Mary Oliver poems under 800 year old redwood trees and sobbed with your friends? Cannot relate.

You never celebrated the poetry of people you admire in a room full of poetry lovers and friends at the iconic Golden Sardine? Cannot relate.

You never drunkenly left your phone in San Francisco and had your friend generously mail it back to Chicago for you? Cannot relate.

San Francisco was a dream. These are moments I am holding in my heart forever. 🫀🌁 by @laurenrichwrites

DIGGING 🪏🪱🌿 by @laurenrichwrites

The Gather Poets on book tour in Toronto for our newest anthology! Every time I’m in the room with these poets it is magic. ✨

Extra special thanks to @helenbillett for hosting us so warmly in her gorgeous home. And to @theguelphpoet as always for bringing the most amazing people together to share art in community. I love you all BIG time.

Next stop: SAN FRANCISCO! ❤️‍🔥 by @laurenrichwrites

FLIDHAIS (flee-ash) by me 🌱

This poem is out in the world in physical form (eeee!) in the newest @gatherpoets anthology which is now available for purchase! The theme of the collection this year is: Thresholds. 🚪

Flidhais is a goddess of the Sídhe (the fairy people in Irish folklore) who crosses over to this world. I originally wrote this poem for my forthcoming book, FAWNING, after researching folklore associated with deer. According to Lora O’Brien, Irish Author & Co-founder of the Irish Pagan School, from a modern magical perspective, Flidhais can be seen to be primarily representative of: the provision of sustenance; the flow of milk – breastfeeding, lactation generally; Sexual appetite and satisfaction; Cattle, farming, keeping, tending of herds; Co-operation with wilder animals, especially Deer.

I can’t wait to read this one out loud on our Gather Book Tour in Toronto and San Francisco! 🦌✨🍀 by @laurenrichwrites

PORTRAIT IS OFFICIALLY OUT IN THE WORLD ❤️‍🔥

I had the privilege of getting an advanced copy of this beautiful collection. I sat down with my cheese plate and read it in one fell swoop because that’s how I’ve read every @isabellecorreawrites collection. It’s hard not to do it that way. I figured that I’d let my annotations on my advanced copy do the talking here. I am so proud of my friend and even more grateful to get to have her genius, tender, and fun AF soul in my life. Go buy the damn book so you too can say F*CK! (complimentary) after every poem too. ✨ by @laurenrichwrites

Happy Friday!!!! I dyed my hair pink (again) and I’m obsessed with it so I needed to post these pictures. That’s all. Nothing poetic to say. 🎀🦄🤸🏼‍♀️💖💅🏻 by @laurenrichwrites

A weird lil poem after @isabellecorreawrites 🐟 by @laurenrichwrites

What Would This Poem Wear? ✨

Three poems by @isabellecorreawrites styled by me!

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of Isabelle’s newest collection, PORTRAIT OF A PERSON WHO PUSHES LOVE AWAY IN FEAR OF LOSING IT. I was inspired immediately to create these outfits. Isabelle writes like no other lover girl can. Every poem ends in a gut-punch or heart-punch. This book is for every woman who feels like they’ll never not be a mess. For those who identify heavily with the new Gracie Abram’s album. For the self-aware sad girls. PORTRAIT is painfully honest even when the speaker is straight up lying. Heartbreaking and hopeful (in the non-saccharine way). You need to read it.

You can pre-order your copy today! It comes out September 15th with @arcanapoetrypress 🫀

🌟 This series is heavily inspired by the queen of literary outfits, @tequilabookclub_ please go follow her for amazing outfits and book recs! 🌟 by @laurenrichwrites
