Meet ‘27 Runway Director- Lauren Rose Wan

Dear Dialective Community,

I’m Lauren, and I’m truly grateful to be one of your directors this year!

As a fashion design major at FIT, I have worked in the costume and bridal industry, fostering a design approach where garments hold character and become a form of storytelling. In a culture of constant consumption, I want to ask what is worth curating and holding onto?

The act of collecting is becoming a lost art in a world that is increasingly more digital and disposable. There is something deeply meaningful about the love and care that goes into building a collection. Much like garments are woven with a person’s history, each piece we create as designers becomes an archive of our time and our devotion to craftsmanship. My intention is to emphasize the importance of leaving physical traces of ourselves; objects we can revisit and pass on.

I am most excited to meet you all and create another outstanding year together, collecting the unique artistry of our community.
