Jeff Wall Photographs 1984–2023 performance documentation from november 2025. Katherine Semchuk and I, with D & Rakeem, co-created a dance score inspired by Wall’s technique of image making: repetition, vertical disruption, dripping, duets, never meeting eye-to-eye, wet with rain—composition, recomposition, composition.

what if we had two years to choreograph one image?

reflecting on a week of building Untitled (Clock-Piece) by @susannahaight in a special place with particularly incredible folks: Kate, Susanne & Susannah 🥲🕛

big props to the @nocturnehalifax team: Signy, Melany & Megan for there huge efforts to make public art happen with spirit and care

and Marite for her critical, creative curation and timeless theme!

I never want to loose a diy nature in art making. to backyard rehearsals, climbing uhauls, parking lots & dreaming on rocks.

[id: a series of images in the slides where we are rehearsing a performance that happens with a clock-like structure. 60 rocks are laid on the ground to mimic a clock face and the performer counts internally 60mins; representing it with their body, limbs, torso, etc. we see them in a moody studio, in the backyard, and in a parking lot. eventually the work is performed on a bed of soil. the performers are dressed in business attire with their hair down.] by @laurenrunions

so, it’s hard to explain but it asks many things. over the past few months I’ve been gathering with incredible artists researching collective practice within “solo” art, with support from @poundsperformance & shivani and clarke.

we’re doing a share-back this evening at ccdt 509 parliament st at 7pm, pwyc. this includes: song, dance, unknown, text, a gathering.

the whole thing might be room sensational 🍋

[id 1: miriam holds a phone up to a fence to take a photo. through the silver fence is a overgrown grassy area. she taps her phone to find focus. id 2: mutya, just her torso seen, pushes a broom while holding a peeled lemon. the camera follows her chest then pans to the blue push broom. id 3: a piece of paper on a black dance floor with writing reading: translation, behaviour time, room sensational, emergence, felt, rash. id 4: pablo and nasiv hold three stretchy stimming toys. pablo, on the left, braids as nasiv holds and ties it off like a hair style. they are in a cluttered dance studio.] by @laurenrunions
