It’s amazing how something so small can have such a meaningful impact. Sometimes a simple catchy word or phrase can be what turns a spark ⚡️ into a fire 🔥.

We use the words “ok then” in a slang way spelled “Ok’Den” and we use it to highlight not just our players individual success but also our team and the program as a whole.

It’s caught on rapid at the high school as you can’t even walk down the hallways without hearing the students at LD55 hollering out “Ok’den” in between classes or at lunch.

Last night was a special moment. When the game was over and all the coaches and our players got back to the locker room, We started giving our post game talk. Next thing you know you heard a lot of noise at the locker room door 🚪… we turn and look and there is our STUDENT SECTION showing up wanting to come in the locker room and join us in celebrating each others success.

I can say it til’ I’m blue in the face. ENERGY-EFFORT-ATTITUDE!!! 🗣️- OK’DEN!!!

Great time this morning speaking to the students at Laurens High for FCA. Sharing my Faith and Testimony with these young men and women was an absolute honor! It was great to come back and see all of you!

My message was merely to allow the kids to not just see me as a coach but as a person who’s been in a mess, broken, tired, drained, beaten …. But not defeated.
I wanted them to understand that just because at times in life we often find ourselves in some type of “mess”. I wanted these young men and women to realize that it’s ok to be in a mess, just don’t stay there. God is working thru the process to bring you into progress. Your mess is not your identity, however It’s the soil where God grows your purpose. 💯

You will never understand the true beauty in life until you have truly experienced and overcame a true struggle. Trust and believe God doesn’t waste your mess…. He uses it to mold and shape your message. 🙏🙌❤️ @coach_davidclayton

Want to give a HUGE shout out as it’s the first time in school history LAURENS VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL has had not just one but TWO players represent the program as ALL-STATE 🏀 selections! Give it up to our very own @quintonwatts_2027 and @zeesimpson_23 who are both only juniors! So with another season to go they are looking to refocus and reload for next year!! Awesome job guys!! @coach_flood has been putting the pieces to puzzle together each every single year since he’s been the Head Coach at LHS. His leadership and guidance as it pertains to developing these young men has been nothing short of extraordinary. He understands the importance of choice leadership and serving the community. He holds his players and staff to the highest standard and it shows. LHS is extremely grateful to have Coach Flood at the helm or our Raider Varsity Boys Basketball program. A good coach doesn’t just teach skills — they build belief.

When a player knows:

“Coach believes in me.”

That belief shows up in:
• Shot selection
• Defensive effort
• Leadership
• Body language

Confidence often comes from relationship before results.
Here at Laurens High our coaches make those relationships a priority and to see them gain that confidence not just on the court but also in the classroom is the ultimate win! by @laurenshoops

Nobody does it better than the LD55 students!! When the Flood Zone gets packed on game nights this place gets absolutely electric !!! With playoffs coming the crowd Tuesday night will be the biggest one yet!!! Come out and fill the gym as your Laurens Raiders host the Wren Hurricanes in the first round of the 2025-26 4-A playoffs!! by @laurenshoops
