Laurent @laurentsugarman is an all-round creative working across visual media — from graphic design and photography to film editing and creative direction. He’s part of Modulate @m.odulate , a creative agency, does his own freelance projects and YEREYERE @yereyere.nl , a genrefluid event collective in Amsterdam that collaborates with various artists, designers, and DJ’s.Laurent’s creative journey started with music, which led him to design his own cover art and eventually discover his love for visual design — a passion encouraged by his mother, who runs her own design studio. While recovering in the hospital at 21, he built his first portfolio with her support—work that later led to his first design job in Utrecht.Since then, he’s been all about visual harmony and detail—spending hours tweaking things until they are perfectly aligned. He’s learned most of what he knows out of pure curiosity (and a lot of Googling). “I never liked studying much—if I want to learn something, I just figure it out,” he says.
