POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Laurie Geltman's "Mama, I Can't Breathe" (feat. Jammin) has arrived after a long journey. Friends in Lagos, Nigeria, Atlanta, GA, and around Southern CA & Los Angeles lent a hand to make this song come to life.

Written on a sad day in May 2020, recording started on my laptop in My Pseudio (my living room) during the pandemic and then criss-crossed many studios to carry this message of empathy & justice, hope and outrage.

Here's a little promo reel I put together with some quotes about the song I've collected, art, and a collage of personnel.

Tom Morello
"This Land Is Your Land"

Los Angeles

Last night was another memorable SONA Foundation* event up in the canyon. Finally, it was a cool night after a week of sweltering heat. Hosted by songwriter powehhouse Anne Previn with beautiful lighting, canapes and drinks, songwriters Stephan Jenkins (Third Eye Blind) and SONA member Sophie Hintze performed and THEN...an impromptu acoustic set by Tom Morello!

We're honoring Tom at SONA's annual Warrior Awards later this month, and boy, did he pull together a special performance for us. Tom ended the night inspiring the intimate gathering with a Woody Guthrie sing-along. (No verses were left out!) A perfect end to a beautiful night for a worthy cause.

My 1st job freshman year at BU was working the graveyard shift at an all night market under the Citgo sign. I made sandwiches and lived a block away. Lots of interesting people in Kenmore Sq in the wee hours back then.
Now they're refurbishing it & I hear moving it a little down the road. Blasphemous!

When working on art for the release of "Radio" in '23, painter @juliets_paintings (Juliet Gilden) and I used to get into political discussions and I said the next album was mostly going to be about the country, looking outward as opposed to introspection. But "Radio" was more nostalgic and sweeter, so I didn't think this worked for that song. Nonetheless, it stands as a reflection for, I suppose the "passion" I feel for preserving the best in America. Whether it feels like anger or defiance, it all comes from a determination not to give up on what it can be. - 7/4/26 taken in United States America by @lauriegeltman

I love this picture of these icons holding hands. Here's to one of the most influential and celebrated painters of modern and contemporary art.

Alaska Thunderfuck and more...
Pop Out LA Day Two
5.31.26
I forgot to post 2nd day from last week's @popout.la music conference. It's the perfect way to usher in @wehopride #pridemonth. 🌈💃🏼🎶
Being the timekeeper allows me to meet the moderators and panelists prior to them going up on stage. What a kind and cool group of people. I learned #alaskatron5000 #alaskathunderfuck has not been to Alaska :) This is an annual conference put on by #Gabikochlani a champion of the LGBTQ community. There's always valuable info for those coming up in music business. Lots of inspiration from hit songwriters to leaders in sync, publishing, booking and other music biz peeps.
