The friendly way to god. And to pizza 🍕

>> The streets of Belfast during The Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, a folk festival in Ireland.

There was a cheerful vibe, hardly no tensions. Yet, the man on the first photo told us people truly carry the weight of the past. He has been struck by a bullet in his own neighbourhood once. Most important: they can openly talk about it now.

This is Château de Saint Maixant, hidden deep in France's Creuse region in Limousin. A 14th century castle featuring a private cinema in its highest tower, though every room currently feels frozen in time.

Still, at 86 years old, owner and former mayor of the village, Gérard Chabert continues to run his B&B. As retired doctor he bought the estate 25 years ago. Today, parts of the property show their desolation, something you'll quickly notice from the endless spiderwebs. But the owner is incredibly welcoming and straightforward.

Through my photos, I wanted to capture the lingering romance of a bygone era in an isolated landscape. Rural France is facing an aging population, raising a quiet question: who will be left to care for these historical châteaux and the people who call them home?

If you ever find yourself nearby, consider booking a room for the night. Or simply stop by for a somewhat spooky walk through the tower hallways.

📸 for REQUIEM FOR CULTURE @kcbrussel // Rising tuition fees are making program access difficult. This campaign supports music students from outside the EU, giving them a fair chance to develop their artistic journey at KCB.

One month of expo ECHO has come to an end. I’m taking so many interesting moments and positive vibes with me, and I’m genuinely happy that I could make people smile with my prints! ** My photos, custom-printed to size, are still available for purchase! **
