On our honeymoon in October, we got to visit with two families of gorillas. This is the Nkuringo family, around 13 members, including a (then) one-week-old baby. There are only about 880 mountain gorillas left in the world, and Bwindi in Uganda is one of two remaining habitats. The wildlife authority has habituated certain families to the presence of humans. Group size and duration of visits are limited to protect the gorillas’ health. Being accustomed to people, they mostly go on about their day while you observe them, but in our experience, they were as curious about us as we were about them! taken in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by @lavallee
