Why the octopus? Because a simple fish would never have been enough. At first, this octopus was just a small detail engraved on the casebacks to indicate water resistance. But very quickly, it became something more obvious: more mysterious, more singular, more in tune with the LAVENTURE universe and its imagery somewhere between exploration, depth, and a Jules Verne spirit. Over time, it became much more than a detail. A second logo. A mascot. A symbol. And perhaps also a kind of self-portrait. LAVENTURE is a One Man Brand. To carry everything alone, sometimes you need eight arms. Design, development, photography, films, assembly, communication, logistics, management.. And then there is also the number 8. 8 is the symbol of infinity. A fitting shape when speaking about objects made to measure time. — Pourquoi le poulpe ? Parce qu’un simple poisson n’aurait jamais suffi. Au départ, ce poulpe n’était qu’un petit détail gravé sur les casebacks pour évoquer la résistance à l’eau. Mais très vite, il s’est imposé comme une évidence: plus mystérieux, plus singulier, plus en accord avec l’univers LAVENTURE et son imaginaire quelque part entre exploration, profondeur et esprit Jules Verne. Avec le temps, il est devenu bien plus qu’un détail. Un second logo. Une mascotte. Un symbole. Et peut-être aussi un autoportrait. LAVENTURE est une « One Man Brand ». Pour tout porter seul, il faut parfois huit bras. Design, développement, images, assemblage, communication, logistique, gestion. Et puis 8, c’est aussi l’infini. DAKAR 2026 — FINISHER. 🏁 The LAVENTURE crew crossed the finish line. A FINISHER medal earned after 14 days of racing, 5,000 km of timed stages, and 8,000 km in total including liaison sections — a true test of endurance for both crew and machine. Many didn’t make it. The LAVENTURE crew finished 20th overall in the CHALLENGER category. On the driver’s wrist: the MARINE Type 3. Exposed to sand, dust, vibrations, shocks, and extreme temperature changes, it performed flawlessly. In the extreme conditions of the Dakar, the MARINE Type 3 proved itself as a true toolwatch, validated in real-world use. The stonewashed finish of the Grade 23 titanium case demonstrated outstanding resistance, with no compromise in legibility or reliability.
