Girl Dinner in DC: Kitchen + Kocktails 🍸✨
Save this for your next girls night out!

My sister and I ordered a little bit of everything, and yes, it was all as cute as it sounds:

🥟 Trinity eggrolls
🍍 Pineapple margarita
🍇 Wildberry gin refresher
🍵 White chocolate matcha cream (new!)

🐟 Cajun stuffed salmon with dirty rice
🍖 Lamb chops with candied yams

Nail emergency in Kenya? I got you 💅🏽 Save this for your Kenya trip.

I got my nails done in America right before my trip, and they broke. So I went to Nuba Spa in Nairobi for a fresh set. Then I stayed for the Moroccan hamam, a brow wax, and a deep tissue massage. It was wonderful.

Taking care of yourself while you travel is part of the trip.

Acne facial in Silver Spring, MD 🌿 My first facial at @shasorganicskincareandmedspa, an organic skincare and med spa in Silver Spring, Maryland, for hormonal acne.

One side of my face was breaking out badly, and I think something I added to my wellness routine caused an adverse reaction. My esthetician did acne extractions and she was so gentle and reassuring, then high frequency, then hydrating and acne-fighting serums. Everything is organic, which matters with sensitive, acne-prone skin like mine.

My skin felt so smooth and hydrated after, and that was just day one. Acne takes time, so I’m keeping it real with you as I go. 💛

POV: you just found your next date night and it opens TODAY 🗽

@kitchenkocktailsusa by Kevin Kelley is officially open in Times Square, and I tried it at their DC location so you know exactly what to order.

The order:
🍹 King of Hearts for him, blackberry margarita for me (sweet but not too sweet)
🍳 Dream eggs + Trinity eggrolls to start
🦐 Seafood gumbo, Rod’s favorite
🥩 Lamb chops, and I’m saying it: the best lamb chops I’ve ever had
🐟Southern Fried Catfish with mac & cheese
👗 Little black dress from Zara + Louboutin x Maison Margiela pumps, because this is a dressy-fun night

The portions are huge. We didn’t even make it to dessert.
And they just dropped a white chocolate matcha cream kocktail and a smothered steak today, so I already know what I’m getting next time.

Friends to lovers + the yearning?? Ahhhh. This one had me in a chokehold from start to finish.

✨ Heart of a Goon II by @_jahquelj — 5⭐️
This book ADDRESSED things. Zoya and her depression had me whew — such a real storyline. And getting more of Cora’s backstory? I have a feeling her book is about to be my favorite in the series.

Y’all can never make me hate Tony Wacko. Never. 😭

Wine cave date idea near DC 🍷 Save this for your next rainy weekend 🌧️

There’s a wine cave an hour from DC, and it’s the perfect unique date spot. We did the High Hors d’Oeuvres tasting underground at @boxwoodestatewinery in Middleburg, Virginia, where every pour comes with a bite.

My favorite was the Cupola with the smoked salmon cracker: bright citrus with something savory. Rod’s was the new 2023 Reserve with the strawberry cake shooter, and this man doesn’t even like strawberries. 😂 The rain came and went while we were tucked away underground, and we didn’t miss a thing.

Slowing down together is part of the wellness routine too. 🤍
