What a surprise / treat it was to walk into the guitar shop, and run into these absolute killers! @jonathanmaronmusic @andrewdow11 @ianmartinallison ✨🤘🏽

So good to see the great @therealbobbybassbrennan (middle), in from traveling the world and playing mad arenas…been too long, my brother! Super nice meeting Alex @poppalapadula as well! When you can play George Porter Jr, and throw in some Jaco solos note for note…🔥

Oooo weeee…the bass playing fire power in this room was just sick! I see you @mitchthebassplayer coming over to crush it!
Pictured: Jonathan, Bobby, Alex, Ian, Mitch and myself - just talking shi…SHOP! Just talking SHOP!😅🤘🏽✨ special shout-out I forgot: @labellastrings 🔥🔥🔥 by @lavondo

Overjoyed.
Thanks to everyone who came out to @itsnyachomba Sade tribute last night! Hearing Nya’s powerful stories about her connection to Helen Adu ( both being ‘proper’ African women ) and persevering in this business / world…with the band Sade , in and of itself, being a dream gig of mine since forever…the night ended up being really special for all.
A funny moment occurred when Manny - the Pianist/Vocalist, asked the audience where they were from: and we heard Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Florida etc… so he then says “dang, anybody from New York in here?” 😂😂😂
.
Super shoutout to @simsonkeys for letting the band know where we need to be, and when we need to be there! And shoutout to Ian and everyone over at @sososnyc - lovely little hidden gem of a venue!

Thanks @pinchrecording @infinitygritty - this recording session was sick!
Not me playing the fretless bass AND the Moog sub37, on the same track - with a Sitar player AND neo-soul vocals?!✨
This whole album- it was a blast to be a part of the creative process. Looking forward to this one being released soon.

Help! Players of instruments that require #intonation….Can’t take this on the road - so haven’t been playing as much as I would like. So my (super frustrating) routine is to put on a drone and play minor- in a key where there’s not a lot of open strings - in this case Ab and Db.
… with obligatory noodling in between😣
What’s everyone else’s go to routines after time away from intonation?

13 years ago we played Blue Note NYC. What an honor. Now, once again, @theflowdown is back at it for a live alchemy of jazz, rock, funk, hip-hop, and world music.... heard separately, felt as one.

Thursday July 30th Live at NuBlu Classic, East Village, NYC

Flowdown is a band surfing the edges of creative freedom. Five musicians from five corners of the world, fifteen years of music, and a live experience that goes somewhere new every time.

Please come join us in this musical adventure.
*Ticket links in bio*

Gavi Grodsky (guitar) · Lavondo Thomas (bass) · Pablo Eluchans (drums) · Sri Kala (percussion, vocals) · Adam Ahuja (keys, vocals)

Thanks to everyone that can out to the TWO shows at #DarylsHouse this week!
As always , my routine is to have a smoke with the “cigar-store” Daryl statue 💨
Playing on THAT stage, in THAT room, with THAT FOH engineer ( Peter has been Daryl’s main A1 since forever🤘🏽), is pretty special ✨
