The saying goes “a picture is worth a thousand words…” that is certainly true with this photo as today airs the last episode of the STL podcast in its current format. The podcast and ministry are moving in a new direction and the time has come for me to pass the baton. Because this picture was taken around the table where it all began, I’m reminded of the obedience in simply opening our hands to God. Not only did we work together to build a ministry, but we laughed a lot, we prayed together, cried sometimes, had differing thoughts & opinions, learned from each other, disagreed with each other, and just simply cared for each other for six years (eight if you count the 2 before hosting the podcast). It was a sweet season… and we know God is the God of seasons and that seasons are not infinite, they must transition. As I exit STL, I am thankful for all the women who shared their stories, shared a deeper glimpse into who God is and hopefully learned more of His character along the way. I am so thankful for friends who trusted what God was doing at STL through me and supported the ministry. To my podcast partners – Katie, your friendship is something I will always count as one of my biggest blessings and I know God will continue to use you to further His Kingdom and help women better understand who God is through his Word. Robyn, I am thankful God allowed our paths to cross and lock arms, serve in ministry together, and build a friendship.

(Sappy post alert!) It was an incredible day celebrating the last Walker child graduating from Auburn. We are so proud of Megan Ann Walker and all that she has accomplished in her four years at Auburn. It is bittersweet to see the last child finish their tenure on the Plains, which has given so much to our family.

We are now officially moving into the role of counselor with the last caboose. One that requires you to “keep the doormat out, and your mouth shut.” We have enjoyed all the stages of parenting — the nervous, protective part of being cop, the golden years of coaching and onto the final years of counselor with a hope to reach companion. Everyone tells you how fast it goes, but until you’ve lived it, you can’t really appreciate the degree in which time truly travels. The Bible reminds us, “there is no greater joy than seeing your children walk in truth” and this is the ultimate prayer for all of us as parents. So no matter what stage of parenting you’re in, and even if the days are truly long while the years seem short, embrace it, savor it, and slow down and actually remember to enjoy it. I assure you that one day you will, in fact, miss it.

Congratulations Megan Ann Walker… You are headed for great things. Keep your eyes on the Lord and continue to have a heart for others. We love you very much! War Eagle always. by @lawauburn
