An undeniable performance in Spain today at the IAU world champs to take the Gold, Charlie left it all out there and ran to win whilst representing USA.

“This is the biggest win of my career! This is the one title that I didn’t have and it ate me alive, so elated to finally have checked that off.”

Last day to wring out any kid of fitness.

8x1k — 4x200 — and added a 1600 flush. The same session I always do 10ish days out from a big race.

First 4 on the roads, second 4 on the track — 2:57 down to 2:44, which is maybe my fastest K in Boulder— I’ll take that all day!

Last really big one of the World Champs build this morning.

5:43 average for 30 miles— 36 total on the day.

24:24 for 5 miles and some change yesterday— 4:43 pace on my watch, and a 5 mile tempo after to get a 10 mile session out of the day.

Made what I could out of a two hour rain delay, three hours of warming up, and a cancelled 10 mile race.

Goal was to blow my legs out so I guess I can say I did that. Not going to sugar coat it— felt like a complete waste of time in the moment, but I flew out to Michigan to get a hard effort, so just calling it that and moving on.

Easy 20 with @theathletespecial this morning back in Boulder.

Exactly four weeks to 100k Worlds from today.
