Welcome to Ascension Bay

Where just like any fishery, if you can hit it right, it shows you its full colors. Almost perfect conditions for an incredible crew, and the results spoke for themselves. Even more special when family joins along for the adventure.

Once again super grateful for great destinations, even better people, and 70spf sunscreen…

Last week @lawson.fish and the crew of @j.mccartt put on an absolute clinic, taking advantage of great weather and happy fish. We’re not one for stats, but when a group puts up numbers like this it’s fun to note!

Chasing river monsters in the middle of the jungle is unlike any other experience on this planet. Made possible by a fantastic program from @tsimanelodges with 5 star meals, lodging, and guides, it doesn’t get much better.

As the bug bites fade and my feet slowly heal from long days in wading boots, my mind is already planning a trip back…

Jurassic Lake. The giant rainbows that live in its crystal clear waters attract anglers from all over, but they come back because of the experience. This insane fishery is only made better by one of the best lodge programs @estancialagunaverde and even better people, and I hope to make it back out there soon by @lawson.fish

18 days, 3500+ miles covered over two countries, planes, boats, transfers, rental car, 4 lodges, and a whole lot of memories made.

Patagonia is a region where paved roads are appreciated (especially when your rental car ends up being 2WD), winds blow at gale force, and giant trout live in some of the prettiest water I’ve ever seen.

Reality is still setting in as @highfiveangler and I did some R&D in Argentina and Chile earlier this year. Can’t thank @davidleaketx and @tailwaters for the opportunity to explore this legendary region.
