In this video, Tom shares a little news that means a great deal to all of us at The Psalter. We’re incredibly proud to have been awarded 4 AA Gold Stars for our rooms and 2 AA Rosettes for Tom Lawson at The Psalter. But beyond the stars and rosettes, what matters most is the team behind them. The people who show up every day, who care about the little things, and who want every guest to feel genuinely welcome, well looked after and eager to return. To our wonderful team, our guests, and everyone who has supported us along the way — thank you. These awards belong to all of you, too. We’re proud of what we’re building, grateful for how far we’ve come, and excited for everything still to come. From all of us at The Psalter, with heartfelt thanks. 🥂 #aa #rosettes #awards #gold #grateful by @lawson_chef
Behind every growing hospitality business, there are decisions to make. We sat down with @lawson_chef, owner of @psaltersheffield and @the_ladybowerinn, to talk about the growth of Lawson Hospitality and what happens behind the scenes as the business develops. From hotel rooms and restaurant revenue to the challenges of taking on a new venue, having a clear understanding of the figures has become an important part of helping Tom make informed decisions. Over the last 12 months, Andrew McDaid, Partner at SMH Mitchells, has worked closely with Tom to understand the different parts of the business and provide financial information that helps him understand the figures and make decisions with greater confidence. #sheffield #smhgroup #ThePsalter #ladybowerinn by @lawson_chef

Meet the Judges. Six food obsessives. One seriously tasty job. From Friday 2 to Sunday 4 September, the British Street Food Awards finals land at Peddler Market, Sheffield. Fifteen finalists, fresh from the five UK heats, will serve two dishes each — 30 plates for our judges to tackle. Every dish is available to buy, so eat, drink and make your call. The crowd chooses the People’s Choice winner; our judges decide the overall champion and category winners. Come hungry. Bring opinions. Let battle commence. Ahmed Abdalla London-born and Yorkshire-based, Ahmed recently left Legacy at The Grand, York, after helping secure a Michelin Guide mention and three AA Rosettes. Tom Lawson Sheffield chef, restaurateur and founder of Lawson Hospitality, behind The Psalter and The Ladybower Inn, Tom previously took Rafters to three AA Rosettes and Michelin recognition. He knows kitchens, Sheffield and what brings people back. Kerre Chen Kerre runs Independent Sheffield, championing the city’s indie businesses, food and culture, while working with local restaurants and media. She’s also the foodie behind @theinsatiablefoodie, hunting down Sheffield’s best bites. She comes hungry — and knows what’s good. Richard Johnson Award-winning food writer and founder of the British and European Street Food Awards, Richard is also behind Food St, London’s newest street market. He knows what separates good street food from the great stuff. Jonathan Harris Jonathan co-founded the Yorkshire Food Guide, the first and only website covering the region’s restaurants, food and drink events and offers. A Yorkshire food obsessive, he has his finger on the culinary pulse. Jordan Roberts For more than 10 years, Jordan has scouted the UK’s best street food and curated Peddler Market’s line-ups. He travels in search of the next big thing — or inspiration for a legendary dinner party. This time, the best of the UK is coming to him. Six judges. Six perspectives. One trophy. Zero hiding place. #BritishStreetFoodAwards #SheffieldFood #YorkshireFood #IndependentSheffie by @lawson_chef

Ad. ✨🍽️ @tom_lawson_at_the_psalter 🍽️✨ Nestled on Psalter Lane in Sharrow, Tom Lawson at The Psalter feels like one of those rare spots where high-end gastronomy meets genuine warmth. Run by Chef Tom Lawson (formerly of Rafters), this intimate dining room captures a refined, boutique charm, elevated and considered in every detail, yet entirely welcoming. It's really one of Sheffield's best spots. From the opening of delicate canapés to the thoughtful service throughout, the attention to detail makes it clear why they’ve earned their place in the Michelin Guide. Standout moments included a wonderfully cooked ocean trout in a rich butter and roe sauce, a beautiful surprise chicken and sweetcorn bao paired with the main course, and Chef Tom’s famous Cauliflower Cheese, a signature dish served alongside a scroll detailing its origin story. All accompanied by a crisp Spanish Albariño- it made for an exceptional evening. Side note: The team behind The Psalter also operates The Ladybower Inn in the Peak District, bringing that same dedication to hospitality out into the countryside. A remarkable spot for special occasions and quiet date nights in Sharrow. We can't reccomend the Psalter enough! #finediningsheffield #wheretoeatsheffield #sheffieldfood #sheffield #whattodoinsheffield @psaltersheffield @lawson_chef by @lawson_chef
