It’s time to reveal the artwork and full details behind our next release —

𝙻𝙳𝙶𝟶𝟷𝟸 𝚅𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚘𝚞𝚜 𝙰𝚛𝚝𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚜 - 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼–𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶)

This project means a lot to us. It looks back at the first years of Lay Down The Groove — a period of exploration, collaboration, and connection across Latin America’s underground scenes. These were the records that shaped our foundation and defined the sound we still carry today.

𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 is a curated reissue of five tracks selected from our catalog between 2016 and 2020 — remastered and brought back to life to celebrate the energy and spirit of that era.

Featuring music from Andy Martin (@4ndym4rtin ) 🇲🇽, Gabriel Ferreira (@gabferreiramusic ) 🇦🇷, Braver (@djbraver ) 🇦🇷, Felipe Charret & Stupp (@fecharret @stupp ) 🇧🇷 and Junn (@junn.exe ) 🇨🇴 — five artists who have each played a special role in our story.

This release marks the first volume in a two-part archival series, with Volume 2 focusing on our own productions from the same period, coming soon.

Introducing our next release, LDG011 — ChordPlay

Following our 2021 EP Pursuit of Sound, we’re back with our debut full-length album — written and produced by Lay Down The Groove.

Spanning seven tracks, this record captures our evolution — shaped across studios, seasons, and shifting states of mind.

Rooted in rhythm and feeling, ChordPlay draws from our foundations in Detroit and Chicago, while moving into faster tempos and deeper club territory.

The artwork, designed by @studiobalcony , continues our visual identity — this time with a coal and deep green palette that echoes the record’s mood and energy.

All profits from PULSO have now been donated to ActionAid Australia’s Colombia earthquake appeal, supporting local women’s organisations in Chocó and across western Colombia.

None of this happens without your support.

Thanks to everyone who came through, bought a ticket, brought their friends, shared the event and kept the dancefloor going till 4AM❤️‍🔥

This time, we’re bringing together the collectives of Naarm’s alternative Latin diaspora for a night of sweat, bass, rhythm and community as part of the hottest @plusonefridays nights

We’ll be dancing to raise funds for communities affected by the earthquake in Colombia, with support directed especially towards CHOCO

Hailing from Bogota, Colombia, @laydownthegroove bring their heavily curated vinyl collection to The Toff (stage).

Featuring deep house, disco, electro and techno sounds, the duo seamlessly thread these together through percussive elements, groove and emotion they've become renowned for.

Outside the booth, Lay Down the Groove operates as a label and party series, and we can't wait to see what they bring.

Last-minute plans, the best kind.

This Saturday we’re taking over Angel Music Bar (@angelmusicbar ) with an impromptu edition of 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗲. When the invite came through, it felt like the right moment to bring the series back.

We started 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗲 a few years ago and have been lucky to host some very special guests along the way — true staples of the local scene like DJ Jnett, Moopie, Mabel, Colette and Bex.

This time is no exception. We’re bringing in a very special 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵 𝘋𝘑 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘳, fresh off a world tour promoting his latest album.

Rounding out the night are DJs and friends we’ve recently connected with — some stepping behind the 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗲 decks for the very first time.

Here’s a little something special for this release ♥️🖤

We’ve always loved having our music in a physical format, and even though pressing vinyl isn’t always possible, we still wanted to create something tangible for the community that’s been growing around the label.

So for 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼-𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶) we put together a super-limited run of CDs — only 20 copies. Each one comes with its own feel, and these mockups give you a first look.

𝓘𝓷𝓽𝓻𝓸𝓭𝓾𝓬𝓲𝓷𝓰: 𝓙𝓾𝓷𝓷 🇨🇴

From Bogotá, Colombia — Junn (@junn.exe aka Juan Charry) is an artist we’ve shared a long journey with. We first met years ago in the city’s local music circuit, exchanging records, playing the same events, and eventually becoming friends.

Since then, Juan has become a familiar face in the LDG story — contributing tracks to two of our past VA releases, one digital and one on vinyl.

His path through music is one of true evolution. A drummer turned producer, he fell in love with machines early on — building his live sets entirely from hardware and bringing a raw, physical energy to the dancefloor.

His performances have taken him to stages like Dekmantel Bogotá, Resident Advisor 24/7, Baum Festival, and Festival Estéreo Picnic, where his blend of acid textures, breaks, and percussive rhythms always stands out.

We’re proud to welcome him back to the label for 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼–𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶) — and to share a piece of that journey with all of you.

𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈: 𝑨𝒏𝒅𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏 🇲🇽🇯🇲

Andy Martin (@4ndym4rtin ) has been a constant source of inspiration for us since the very beginning — even before Lay Down The Groove was officially born. Back in 2015, we invited him from Mexico to Bogotá for one of our early showcases. That trip sparked a genuine connection — both as artists and as friends.

Not long after, Andy became part of our story in a deeper way — contributing a track to 𝐹𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝑜𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝐹𝓁𝑜𝑜𝓇, our first-ever release, alongside @fecharret & @stupp

Today, he stands as one of Latin America’s most respected artists — a Mexican Jamaican producer known for merging sci-fi techno and Latin Caribbean rhythms with a futuristic edge.

His work has reached some of the most iconic dancefloors in the world, from Berghain and Tresor to Fabric, supported by names like DVS1, Ben UFO, Blawan, Nastia, and many more.

We’ve followed his journey with pride, and it feels special to have him once again as part of the LDG crew — this time for 𝚄𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 (𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟼–𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟶), a project celebrating the early connections that shaped the label’s sound.
