Some life updates from me ☁️

Hello! It’s been a while since I’ve put anything on the grid 👋🏼 I had all the intentions of keeping up with socials in 2024 and 2025 but sometimes, life leads you down a different path! So here’s some updates of where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to ✨

1. I got married last June! We had the most beautiful day celebrating with friends and family. I’ve been together with my now husband for nearly 15 years so nothings really changed (well except a few things coming up!)

2. Spent a lot of my time in early 2024 DIYing most of the wedding - as a graphic designer, how could I not?! (Let me know if you want to see a post with everything I made for the day!)

3. Just before that, I had an incredible hen party in Madrid with lots of my closest friends. It fulfilled my Pinterest dreams and beyond.

4. Found out in September we were expecting - the best news in the world and I couldn’t be more grateful as I know how hard it can be for some couples. The first trimester sickness and gagging got me bad though, and if you’ve been there, it doesn’t always feel like an enjoyable club to be in. Pregnancy isn’t all smiles and looking cute with a bump (although for the sake of this Instagram post it is 😂).

5. Went on a little babymoon instead of the honeymoon we’d planned (the honeymoon will 100% still be happening, just with a small delay)

6. We’re due baby boy this month - the countdown is on, the back pain, acid reflux, foot swelling and all the other joys of the third trimester are here. Managed to squeeze in the loveliest baby shower before he makes his appearance.

7. I started mat leave! I’ve still kept busy working up until now (all be it not sharing much on socials) but sitting at a desk for any length of time now is difficult. Especially as I’ve managed to fall over badly twice in the past month! Being 5’1 and carrying a watermelon around that you’re actively growing is HARD.

8. Layer & Ink is taking a short break on new branding projects until January 2026 to enjoy some precious months of family time with our baby. 🩵

How can you help a small business without spending any money?

Businesses ultimately depend on clients, however there are lots of ways you can support your favourite small businesses without needing to spend anything at all.

□ Tell your friends & family
□ Follow them on socials
□ Save & comment on their posts
□ Leave them a review
□ Send them a positive DM

These gestures may seem little but are VERY valued by small businesses. So why not dedicate just five minutes of your time a day to being the biggest cheerleader for your favourite creators. 🤍
