POSTS STORIES REELS

When serving I was asked a question I couldn’t answer:
If you stood at the gates of heaven and God asked why He should let you in… what would you say?

I’d been sharing the gospel all month on a mission trip. That night I cried and asked God to help me understand what I was preaching.

His answer was one word. Jesus.
Not my ministry. Not my résumé. Jesus.

What would you have said? 👇

| Ghana dump pt.2

“But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?”
— ‭‭Luke‬ ‭14‬:‭28‬‬
(I actually encourage you read from verse 25-35)

Felt led to share this verse because as fun as a month in Ghana looks and sounds, it’s is very much costly, and I don’t mean physical money costly. Salvation is free, but discipleship is costly. I believe God truly showed me the cost of being a disciple during this trip. Being a follower of Jesus Christ, is not and won’t ever become easy, so are you willing to become better at handling hard? A small dump and some words are literally not enough to explain what God did for the 30 days I was in Ghana…but in the most simplest terms I will say that Ghana stretcheddd me, there was sooo much good and also some bad. So many tears, but also a lot of laughter. I really thank God for the opportunity to be taught, pruned, molded, shaped, purified, & refined.

Spent 10 days in Cape Coast, Ghana’s old capital, and although these pictures give Vaca/touristy a majority of our time was spent having conversations with College students as well as children in the surrounding cities about how they perceive God. For one, the gospel is SOOOOO powerful. There are Christians today all over the world that don’t believe they will be in heaven if they were to die today. If that is you, then you have misunderstood the Good news of accepting Jesus Christ into your life. The good news being that salvation is free and all of us can receive that free gift. I met a lot of principled, well mannered, and morally sound Ghanaians who despite their “Christian” lifestyle and culture, didn’t get this. I am so so so grateful to God that he not only gave me the opportunity to witness the work he is already doing in Ghana, but partake in the new work of changing the hearts and minds of this upcoming generation to truly be living sacrifices for Jesus who understand that their works aren’t what gets them to see Jesus, but his love for us. Jesus Loves you!🫶🏿 by @layerswitharmelle

Psalm 23
“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”
.
.
I love this passage because it brings nature to life & awareness to the physical manifestation of God’s glory as well as the potential rest we can receive in & through him.
I just want to publicly Thank God for leading me beside still waters and green pastures.
It’s been a journey discerning the difference between just pastures & GREEN pastures. Know that God can only reign over living things (mark 4), so maybe you not seeing God’s hand in your life is due to the fact that your pastures are in fact dead, not green. Maybe they’re dead because they were self planted, self cultivated, God had no hand in the growth and development of the pasture therefore it can never be as green as what God has prepared. I urge you to seek God for the green pastures that is your rest. by @layerswitharmelle
